  1. Wow that is crazy cheap! I bot a XTOOL X100 PAD, which is almost $600CAN. But it does do a lot of other functions.
  2. Interesting. I've had cars sit for over a year and fired right up once a battery is installed. Maybe the ignition immobilizer antena somehow got damaged? The immobilizer system consists of key chip, speedo cluster, BIU, ECU, if any of these are changed, it does exactly as your car is doing. The key is read by the BIU, I'm pretty sure. I have reprogrammed immobilizer on many subaru's. Again, I'd guess maybe ignition antenna. Its the white ring around the ignition where the key goes in. Also check all fuses.
  3. I put a JDM nose cut on my 2008 LGT after a front-end fender bender
  4. Hopefully the AC was discharged. Just for a recommendation to anyone pulling any subaru engine, it's best to remove the PS pump and AC pump from the engine and leave it with the car, so as not to have to disconnect these systems.
  5. This gets very interesting, it's a DOHC non-turbo. I honestly know nothing about that engine.
  6. I guess 1st it should be determined if it's a Turbo engine or NA. Non-turbo does not have Secondary Air Injection
  7. Look at the LH cylinder heads, below the oil filler tube, if you have the AVLS oil solenoid and oil pressure switch, then the engines are compatible. The blue connector is Oil Solenoid, if both engines have this, then you are good to swap.
  8. Yes it will work, you might have to change the intake manifold
  9. It's because the tank is kinda likw 2 compartments due to the driveshaft tunel.
  10. Also ringland failure is very rare in a non turbo, I've actually never seen it in the hundreds of na engines I've worked on.
  11. @fiber_tek Your 1st pic is of the older style PCV where the PCV is screwed into the intake manifold, The 2nd pic is of a 2003ish+ style PCV where the PCV is screwed into the block. The PCV vents can be pulled from the block but it's not necessarily easy, they are pressed in. I have swapped these before. I was thinking of making a jig to pull them out but never did. I am surprised you would have had to change oil pump, and pan. That's odd to me.
  12. Have you looked into the common issues with any other manufacturers? Nothing is good anymore, like they were 15yrs ago.
  13. A 2005 EJ255 does not have dual AVCS. Only STI came with dual AVCS in USDM. If your car has dual AVCS, you may have a JDM EJ20X/Y engine, which was a very common engine used to replace EJ255
  14. Is it a turbo or non turbo? Turbo has bucket and shim, non turbo has adjustable lash.
  15. Compression test, or my favorite, leakdown test. Common causes of low compression in Subaru Valve lash to tight Dropped valve guide Bad valve or valve seat Failed piston or rings
  16. So it sounds like you put Legacy headlights on an Outback. 2000-2004 Legacy GT and 2000-2004 Outback have split headlights. Share the same assemblies. 2000-2004 regular Legacy has single bulb (dual element) headlights.
  17. Do you have the JDM control faceplate adapter already? If not, this can be a big issue. Hard to find and expensive
  18. I was getting 700-880 for the primary (verticle) cat and 300-350 for the secondary (horizontal) back mid summer. Canadian price
  19. I just had a heated windshield installed today in a 2011 Forester for $190Canadian
  20. Unfortunately you missed the high prices. Rodium has dropped in half since early summer. DPs have dropped to almost half Sent from my SM-G988W using Tapatalk
  21. Look on http://www.partsouq.com You can buy JDM parts from them Sent from my SM-G988W using Tapatalk
  22. The early LGT had catted uppipe, but they are not worth very much. I got like $60 for mine. While getting as high as $1320CAD for stock LGT downpipe Sent from my SM-G988W using Tapatalk
  23. This is an EJ20X/Y that went into this 2005 LGT Sent from my SM-G988W using Tapatalk
