Coyote_Lips
The parking lot at my work is full of modded cars. Walking from my car to my office always takes longer than it should... i'm nosy. Stopped and talked to a co-worker about his modded Mazda RX8. Greddy TD06 pushing 260hp at the wheels but only 200lbs of torque. Is that normal for a rotary? He isn't a mechanic and wasn't sure either. Not a bad looking car though... He mentioned racing out at Willow Springs. Anyone see him out there before? He let me take some pics. Opinions? BTW... the S2000 parked next to him is another co-worker, but I don't know anything about it, yet! Yup...
rao
That's not unusual - rotaries don't make lots of torque. The amazing thing is that it still runs Rob IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR CAR YOU SHOULD NEVER DRIVE IT
05GT Guru
That's not unusual - rotaries don't make lots of torque. The amazing thing is that it still runs Lol, i would like to know what the rx8 engine can handle for boost. Its a completely different long block block than the rx-7 turbos. So basically his turbo swap only got him 40-50more whp than stock, must be running like 6 psi to be safe.
rao
Figure about 1 psi or so Rob IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR CAR YOU SHOULD NEVER DRIVE IT
Coyote_Lips
I think he said 7psi using a cobb AP for tuning. He was a little surprised when I told him I sold my AP and went opensource. Now he's trying to convince me to go out to the track with him. I'm still on stock tires. Yup...

Bolksey85
I'd believe that with a respectable launch. He would have to get the revs up so boost builds quickly and the car is in it's powerband (you know, where it makes 8 lb.-ft of torque as opposed to 5) without spinning. executor485
That honda would whoop anything it raced... Mainly cause its not a Honda... It's superman in the form of a car (no one has mentioned the superman badge on the hood where the Honda symbol should go) If I pass you on the right, I'm flipping you off. Coyote_Lips
I saw the guy in the hall again yesterday afternoon and he told me he's putting on a boost controller to bump it up to 14psi. I told him to get good at rebuilding his engine. Yup...
