05GT Guru
Nice car, was lookign over in great detail the auto 3.8 v6 one they had at the milwaukee auto show. That and the G8 gxp were the 2 cars i was most excited about there.
IwannaSportSedan
Black, with tinted windows might actually slightly hide the awkward quarter window. It is unfortunate that the car gets SO CLOSE to practical perfection (not literally perfect, but as close as the real world usually gets...) The puckered front end and fang headlights... The droopy rear quarter windows The fact that such a sleek coupe doesn't have a lift-back, but a small trunk lid. The fact that a special edition model with the Tau V8 engine installed hasn't been announced yet. Those are the only things wrong with the Genesis Coupe. 05GT Guru
A lift-back as you call it generally weighs more than the small trunk lid. I would like to see a turbo 6 cylinder
IwannaSportSedan
Yeah, a bit more... but the practicality is fantastic. I could fit more stuff in my old Probe GT and fox Mustang hatchbacks than I can in my Legacy, and my Legacy is physically bigger by a decent amount. The openings aren't as big, though. spongemonster
Huh so that's what that thing is at the Hyundai dealer. I thought it was a new Tiburon or something.

Jerboa113
see, they can run sill-less doors yet subaru thinks its an old idea? I dont like the grill, it looks like its trying to kiss someone.. looks too feminie. looks good otherwise. I guess the interior is kinda plain but they all are these days. is that one loaded? The power seat doesn't seem very powered.. but that may be a manual back adjust because its a coupe? it really looks like hyundai is stepping it up to be a better competitor in the automotive market. This is a VAST improvement over their last decade or so of not so hot autos. This is a VAST improvement over their last decade or so of not so hot autos. This is a very nice vehicle. It makes me question if I will go this car vs another turbo Subaru next time around. The seats are incredible. and the interior is pretty well laid out. I will try to drive it today if the weather stays dry. I don't like the grille either, or the big H on it. They should have done the front like the Genesis sedan with no badges and made the grille a little higher end looking. I am sure someone will have a nice aftermarket one for it down the road. I am not really impressed by the tail lights. They have too much white/clear in them and make me think of the lights kids put on the civics. all red or at least maybe a light smoke film on them would help this though. It resembles the G35 coupe a lot in person and it quite a bit bigger than i expected it to be. It still doesnt seem to be as wide as the G35 coupe, but still has a great stance. This is the Track version so it has bigger sway bars (25mm in the front and 22mm in the back), bigger/wider tires - 225/40/19 in front and 245/40/19 in the rear, etc this one is the 6 cylinder which has 306 hp at 6300rmp (not really impressed where it makes that power in the band) and 266 ft lb at 4600 rpms. The turbo has less power, but the torque is more useful in most driving - 210 @ 6000 rmps and 223 ft lb at 2000 rpms
franklin
I see consensus on the grill.... I'm sure there will be alternative options. Overall however this car , either V6 or turbo looks to be a nice unit to start with. Seems that you could get a nice track turbo for 24K too

VTGT
Gotta love that 10 yr 100,000 Powertrain Warranty. I would probably ditch that wing. I would love the 2.0T Track. Are hyundai dealers mod-friendly at all?
GraysonSubaru
I dont know about mods. There arent many Hyundai vehicles that you can mod like you could a Subaru so it is something I think many will start to find out as the cars start to be bought and companies find mods to do for them. I read on a forum that the EVO X turbo may be a direct upgrade fit for the stock turbo. I didn't see much info into it yet, but I am sure some big turbo stuff will come of it. GraysonSubaru
note on the turbo models: Boost tuning can be done by reflash only .. you need to trick out the ECU or actuator or aftermarket wastegate itself. You can not use an MBC on the turbo Genesis coupe.

An Evo X turbo would be fun on the Genesis once people figure out how to flash the ECU
GraysonSubaru
maybe cobb will come up with AP's and such for these vehicles. That would make it fairly easy and cost effective to get good power and should make them a little easier to tune
