Golf4283
How would one hook these up to act as the DRL's? I would want to do that.
YouAreABus
^ oohhh that would be cool, I wonder if it can be done with the regular DRL's disabled

Gire
^ UH-OH I hope this isn't going to be a growing trend in the rice community That is exactly what it will become.  It'll be the 2009 version of Altezzas. Edit- but the Saab LED strip looks really good. Better executed than the Audi version.
gershon
Well this is what I think. The Audi led's have no hymn or reason for the shape. They are in a pretty square shaped headlight. http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h163/gershon23/audiheadlight.jpg The way I installed them actually follows the contour of the light and look like they could be stock. The one worry I had was if it would look too rice like, and I can say that they turned out way better than I thought.
gershon
those look nice! did you have to use glue or did they come with sticky stuff on them already? I used some clear double sided rubber like tape.

Actually theres a Forester over at NASIOC who did something similar with the Saab and i thought that turned out pretty good.
gershon
How would one hook these up to act as the DRL's? I would want to do that. When I have time I was going to hook them up to the fuse box and a switch inline. This will allow me to turn them on and leave them on but have them shut off with the car. And if for some reason this idea gets out to the ricers then I can shut them off for good.
gershon
+2 yeah, those are almost exactly what I was thinking! I would probably shorten them a little as well, the ones I saw on eBay were a little more expensive, but could be shortened every 3cm. gershon - How long are those strips? Do you recall the vendor you bought them from? Also, you said you wired them to your parking lights, do they also flash with the turn signal? The strips I bought are 48 cm and you can cut them in increments of three LED's which are spaced out every cm. I did think about cutting them down but did not want to take a chance in destroying the strip. I think that is funny considering I was not worried about taking a $350 headlight apart. Here is a link to the the eBay store I bought them through. http://motors.shop.ebay.com/merchant/wonder_auto_shop918
SuperCleanLGT
looks nice but too close to an LED shift knob/pedals. I like them OEM but not as a mod.
Jerboa113
I am liking these.. Â I'm not sure that i'll do it cos I dont wanna take my headlights apart again.. but I am liking it. MDork
^^^ when did you get the TurboX?  you should start a thread with some pics of it. Just got it a couple weeks ago. It's a great car. My LGT is faster but everything else (suspension, brakes, exhaust, interior) is better in the Turbo X. I might take some pics at some point but most people here aren't into Saabs so no real desire to do a show and tell...

I have not seen an led shift knobs and pedals in an Audi. I actually think this looks more OEM then the Audi A4 lights. At least these flow with the shape of the light. DoubleM
Ok I was sucked in. I found LED strips on eBay for $12 each including shipping. So I bought some to add into the headlights. http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h163/gershon23/IMG_0885.jpg http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h163/gershon23/IMG_0887.jpg http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h163/gershon23/IMG_0890.jpg I plan to add a switch for them but for now I have them hooked up to my parking lights. Those look really sweet, I wanna try it. Any more pics, how about in the daytime?
gershon
Ok! Here are a few more photo's. They are not very good "taken with iPhone" and I could not seem to get a shot without the glare. I am not going to lie but I did try to touch them up with photoshop. http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h163/gershon23/sub-front-led-on1.jpg http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h163/gershon23/sub-front-led-on2.jpg http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h163/gershon23/to-the-side-led-on1.jpg I can say if I could go back and do it again I would definitely cut the strip shorter so the LED's would not round off at the top or maybe so they stop at the light bar in the middle.
