gershon, small world isn't it. I bought a pair of the smaller 9" lights for my foglight spot. Do you think they are trimable if i seal the end back up with say silicone or epoxy or something like that. looking at the bulbstrip, i think they are in 3 LED sections in the rubber. I might try it

Attention BEWARE!!! I went in to change the position of the led strip to pass into the turn signal light bar and when I was all done I was faced with a bad strip. Only the first six led's lit up. These strips feel like they are pretty pliable but they are in fact super delicate. My advise is bend them once and stop. I didnt really bend it that much but obviasaly too much. Here are the photos of what I was trying to do.

Start with cutting a slot in the under peice of the light bar in order for ther to be room for the strip.

Then you will need to cut a slot on the side of both peices to run the led strip through.

I cut a couple of plastic strips to run along the led strip in order to keep it in place.

I am hoping you can guess why I do not have an after shot of the installed headlight.

Take two!

This is actually one 48cm strip. I put tape over 4 LED's between the main headlight and the turn signal area.

Sorry I ment when they were off, I didnt like having the naked strip sitting there visible how did you fix that issue?

I am not sure what you mean with masking them. They are definitely noticeable during the day at least around here in Seattle. Maybe in super sunny mid brightness you would not notice the LED's.

that looks good. I'd be worried about the tape tho. If you were good at soldering you could have probably cut it and soldered a wire lead.

How do you plan to wire these?

Ok I got you now! As far as ghetto I would say some people like Mr Gire will say they look too rice. As far as anyone noticing what the inside of my headlight looks like when my car is sitting in a parking space? Well I don't think most people notice that stuff. I am sure you could find some frosted plastic strip to use as a cover or something and you may want to do so if you bring your car to shows.

What worries you about the tape? I used electrical tape and LED's do not get hot at all. You definitely do not want to try and cut these strips and try to solder them back together. Please just trust me on this.

I plan on setting up there own switch and keeping them on most the time in place of DRL's.

Looks good, If you pull them apart try to find grey paint to paint the bar not the led are or black them out should work out good, good job all the same I am now motivated to do a new set of shoddy lights myself hahaha thanks for sharing this great idea.

If you look at the 1st photos with the strips on the open light you will see the brown circuit on the inside of the strip. If you look real close you can see that I put some black vinyl decal material over the top of the strip. I did think that looked ghetto the 1st time around.
