cfdrumr
I am currently running stock wheels with 215/45/17 Toyo Proxes4. What should I be running the tires at? I know some people prefer very inflated tires while others like them nice and soft... I am a daily driver on terrible Los Angeles streets and acceleration is important so I know I should be leaving mine right in the middle is not on the soft side... any help...? Gire
I guess manufacturer 'suggests' 33 psi, but I like my 225-40-18 Kumho's to be at about 36 cold.
cfdrumr
seeing as it is summer in los angeles, the coldest it gets is mid-high 80's...how can I get a cold reading?
Impulse
cold being the relative term here, take a cold reading in the morning, just before you get in and drive when the tires have had a night to cool down.
cfdrumr
sounds good... I should shoot for Mid-Low 30's all around?
mwiener2
Read the max psi on the side of the tire. that's gonna get you the best MPG and the harshest ride. Example: My tires max psi is 50psi. I run 44/42 and that gets me a good comprimise between MPG, handling, and ride comfort. The only way to know what works for you is to experiment and see what you like. Cold Inflation Pressure means the tire is the same temp as the ambient air.... before the car has been drivin. ilh
Driving on them makes a huge difference. My F1As are set to 36/34 "cold", but I measured pressure after some highway driving in 94F and they were 44/42 "hot". Does max inflation pressure (e.g., 50psi) on tire refer to cold or hot? peteyjr
I run the same pressure as above poster 40 front and 38 rear on Falken Fk 452's . Then again the roads in South Fla are pretty smooth (at least on the highways).

str8dwn
Put Proxes 4s on wife's RSX. They must be larger inside b./c they really needed 10psi more than factory specs to not look flat.
