Interesting -- if you plug the GT-R's weight & ET into the various online hp calculators, they come up with ~ 500hp. MotorTrend may be on to something. That, or Nissan is providng ringers to journalists. Let's see if Average Joe's car puts up the same figures.

Everyone already knows the 480hp at the crank is underrated, shops have seen as high as 470hp to the wheels bone stock, the real number is somewhere around 510-530hp at the crank. Although i would like to see a AWD drivetrain that only looses 10hp goin from the crank to the wheels

The King is dead, long live the King...

V-spec spy shots. Looks like additional brake cooling intakes, CF rear spoilers, carbon ceramic rotors, new brake setup and new wheels. I'm sure more power, lighter weight and more $$$ are part of the package as well.

Compared against this pic of the regular GT-R, it also looks like the car is lowered and the new wheels are smaller.

The front seat looks different too.

Where is the shifter and the clutch pedal on the Spec V :lol:

You will have to wait for the Spec SPE for that. SPE for Stubborn Purist Edition. It will also come standard with a leather wrapped whip for the horse.

More spy shots of it attacking the Ring.

Apparently it's going to be 300 lbs lighter (lots of CF) and 550-600 hp.

Lets not forget that after dealer markups it will probably start off at $125-150k Before taxes... for a NISSAN!

Doesn't matter as the only way I will end up with one is if I win the lottery, and then WTF cares about dealer mark-up.

It is still ugly.

A $40k Subaru is a smaller leap than a $125k Nissan is all I'm saying.

So is a $100k Chevy a step farther leap than $100k Nissan? How much is too much for a particular brand, is there a sliding scale table? So does this mean you would rather spend the $125k on an inferior 911 turbo just because of the badge on the nose?

Personally I don't follow brand loyalty or feel that brand means a certain price range, but I'm sure a majority of Americans do! I'd do alot more with that money than waste it on a car that I would hardly drive.
