John M
Interesting -- if you plug the GT-R's weight & ET into the various online hp calculators, they come up with ~ 500hp. MotorTrend may be on to something. That, or Nissan is providng ringers to journalists. Let's see if Average Joe's car puts up the same figures. 05GT Guru
Everyone already knows the 480hp at the crank is underrated, shops have seen as high as 470hp to the wheels bone stock, the real number is somewhere around 510-530hp at the crank. Although i would like to see a AWD drivetrain that only looses 10hp goin from the crank to the wheels

IwannaSportSedan
and GT-R has one more driveshaft than the Legacy or other subarus do... more moving parts usually does not mean less inertial drag.

chenc544
They had one at the Denver auto show when I was there yesterday. It was a JDM model. It's actually a lot bigger car than I expected, pretty imposing seeing one in person.

chenc544
This is the only true GTR http://www.conceptcarz.com/vehicle/z15121/Iconic_GTR.aspx I saw that a while ago and was surprised that they were able to name that car GTR. I would have thought Nissan trademarked the GTR name in the US. Maybe you can't trademark 3 letters...
chenc544
The King is dead, long live the King... V-spec spy shots. Looks like additional brake cooling intakes, CF rear spoilers, carbon ceramic rotors, new brake setup and new wheels. I'm sure more power, lighter weight and more $$$ are part of the package as well. http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/04/gt-r.specv.ul2.kgp.ed.jpg http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/04/gt-r.specv.ul6.kgp.ed.jpg http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/04/gt-r.specv.ul9.kgp.ed.jpg http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/04/gt-r.specv.ul4.kgp.ed.jpg And few more here. http://www.autoblog.com/photos/nissan-gt-r-spec-v-spy-shots/738757/
chenc544
Compared against this pic of the regular GT-R, it also looks like the car is lowered and the new wheels are smaller. The front seat looks different too. http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/10/tokyo_nissan_gt_r_live_shots_020.jpg

chenc544
A $40k Subaru is a smaller leap than a $125k Nissan is all I'm saying. So is a $100k Chevy a step farther leap than $100k Nissan? How much is too much for a particular brand, is there a sliding scale table? So does this mean you would rather spend the $125k on an inferior 911 turbo just because of the badge on the nose? Personally I don't follow brand loyalty or feel that brand means a certain price range, but I'm sure a majority of Americans do! I'd do alot more with that money than waste it on a car that I would hardly drive.
