danny boy
when installing saggy butt shims -after- installation of new struts/springs: Can it be done without removing the lower strut bolt? (undo the top 2 nuts, lower the hub/strut/control arm assembly, slip on the spacer, raise it up and bolt it on?) If new studs are required, can the old ones be pounded out without entirely removing the strut/spring assembly? Presumably, alignment is required? Help me to understand... paranoid56
With stock studs you can do just what you said. But with longer studs you will have to remove the whole strut.
danny boy
So is the consensus that 1/4" shims are max for stock studs, and 3/8" for Metro studs?

jproy12
So any of you ship these to Canada? I'm looking for 3/8'' with longer studs... I am also running a rear strut bar, which means I am cutting it tight! What kind of stud could be used? Its an M10 x 1.25, correct? JP
m sprank
I ship to Canada. USPS Priority Mail International. Canada Post has been delivering my packages, lol.
jproy12
What kind of studs would I need for a 1/2" spacer with a rear strut bar? Don't want to cut it loose! JP
m sprank
No studs. With 1/2" spacers you need to switch to bolts and nuts.
jproy12
Mike, can you explain how I would do this? If I use bolts, may as well get some real long ones! Thanks, JP Ps: could I weld the bolt on the strut mount?
paranoid56
If you have a welder then tea. Just put the bolt from the bottom and tac the head.
