jmswinger
They'll probably drop the price of the spec. B by a couple or a few thousand. As I canadian with a strong dollar this would be heaven. it would be sooo nice if they did this as the Spec B is the only car that I would look at. Now hopefully they don't mess it up too much and get the car out quickly. You guess from the US have to understand that a base Honda Accord V6 list for about 32K in Canada and when you say that I can get a Spec B for 32 when it lists here for 45K I am happy. If they drop it even more then I might just have to buy it sooner to make sure the can $ does not drop..
Obsessotron
God I get tired of living in Canada sometimes its really sucks when you have to suffer the consequences of having no population and the population we do have has no spending money because of ridiculous taxes. People here don't really care about cars enough either because the insufferable winters, gravel sprinkled roads, poorly kept roads/highways wreck the cars anyways. Therefore, when you would like to buy something nice or have extra choice as a consumer.....NOPE PS: its -10 Fahrenheit as I am writing this WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!! deeslk
Well maybe the price of the specB will come down.. no worries for me I got my 08GT, not thinking of chaning until 2010 when the new model should be out.

zhabodav
From observations in quebec, the province...You dont see many GT's or outback XT's anyway...yes its an interesting move but maybe its related to the fact that buyers dont buy them as much.... all you see on the road are 2.5i's and 3.0r outbacks...many 3.0r outbacks
SLegacy99
I'd be fine if they took the LGT back to N/A. Offer a direct injected 3.6L instead and if you want a turbo get an Impreza or a Forester. And Subaru would do this with the current trend being smaller engines with turbochargers. They always do the opposite.
IwannaSportSedan
You might be fine with that. I, however, am not. DI H6 would be fine as an engine. But a DI turbo is better, even if just an H4. I don't like the Impreza, and I don't need a Forester (especially without a manual option with the XT) and I don't want to have to buy a boy-racer WRX STI or possible Forester STI to get turbo power and a stick shift. I like sport sedans, and sport coupes. Subaru has no coupes. If they can the Turbo Legacy, or seriously cripple what appeal it still has, I, and many others will look elsewhere for sport sedans. Infiniti G35, Audi A4/A5, Pontiac's G8, and several others come to mind. I don't have to buy a Legacy, even if I would like to have a Legacy to buy. IwannaSportSedan
Okay, I guess a car can't be fast if it doesn't have a turbo. I said: "Infiniti G35, Audi A4/A5, Pontiac's G8, and several others come to mind. I don't have to buy a Legacy, even if I would like to have a Legacy to buy." The Infiniti and the Pontiac are not force-fed, and only some of the Audis. I didn't say they needed turbos. I said I prefer the turbo to the NA H6, because it is faster. If they can get at least 300hp, and similar amounts of torque out of the H6... let me know. So far, they aren't. STI is, and the Legacy turbo is very similar, and can be tuned to that point. The 3.0R Legacy is a nice car, but it isn't as sporty as the turbocharged GT, and it doesn't have a MANUAL TRANSMISSION, at least not in the US. If the 3.0R Legacy is all that is left after Subaru cuts the turbo GT, or if they make the Turbo GT Spec B into something I just can't pull the trigger on, (or just keep it as strangled as it is, option-wise) I will make my next car something that does have the performance that I want. I have a feeling that I am not the only one.
Guest
Don't forget that big ass high displacement engines do not work too well in our powertrain layout which is front heavy anyway. 3.6 NA probably does ok in a boat like Tribeca, but I don't see a big engine like this in Impreza hatch. Brady
Just because they have a Canadian Spec.B, doesn't mean it's a turbo. The Spec.B in Canada to be a 3.0 Spec.B as was offered in other markets in the past. Just something to chew on. It very well could be that Subaru of Canada went hyper retarded on us. rottenspam
No turbo legacy's that would suck! My Legacy GT is coming off of lease next October. I don't want the dog of an engine that is know as the 3.0 H6. Its a step backwards from the 2.5T it guzzles more gas for less power. I'd take a 3.0Turbo or a 3.6 with at least 270hp. But if thats as subbie is bringing to the plate the new A4 looks a lot more tempting the new 2.0T is supposed to get 240hp/250lb-ft and get better gas milage then the current 2.0T
SLegacy99
Okay so heres how they should do it. 270 hp LGT with the 3.6L and then a 300+ hp Spec. B for all you turbo fan boys.
IwannaSportSedan
They already have an H6 Legacy, and it isn't the *GT*. Maybe the Legacy gets the 3.6 or not... but it won't be a GT. They are two separate Legacy models, due to the engine. The 3.0R was too late, and the 2.5GT appears to be being shuffled off, or marginalized. So far it says canada. I doubt SOA is going to fully subsidize the Indiana plant to build GT limited sedans, if Canada isn't planning on offering them, the Legacy wagon was the other way around. I doubt the SOA list is going to look much different, unless it is even more sparse. I wouldn't mind if the *Legacy 2.5GT Spec B* were 30k, with STI's 300hp, full color choice, optional NAV, and optional HIDs, and other appropriate amenities. 34k, no real color choice, and still just ~250hp, (as it has now, exactly like the GT Limited), is still as much a no-go as it has been since '06 in north america. I won't pay 34k for a car I can't choose the color and options of. Not sure what price is appropriate to not have that choice available, but it is pretty damn low. There are other options on the market, as I have mentioned twice now, Subaru can't think that they can continue short-changing or over-charging their Legacy GT customers. IwannaSportSedan
because it would be confusing, and moronic. Moronic is just their speed, but so far it hasn't been confusing, other than confusing me how people who manage companies that want to sell cars can be so moronic about selling cars. Legacy 3.0R is going to stay Legacy 3.0R, or become the Legacy 3.6R, or something. Maybe LL Bean, or something, but they aren't going to move the GT moniker over. The Legacy 2.5GT will either continue, or be cancelled, the GT moniker isn't just going to leap over to the more-lux-than-sport 3.0R/3.6R If Subaru were somehow to make the Legacy 3.0GT, or 3.6GT, then they may indeed be both moronic and confusing. The H6 Legacy is not going to be as exiting as the current turbocharged Legacy GT. It will be a normal low-ride sedan, that otherwise is as nice, calm, and sedate, just like the LL Bean Outback. If I wanted that kind of car, I would have bought a damn Camry.

IwannaSportSedan
ARE YOU REALLY THAT THICK?????? WE AREN'T TALKING ABOUT AUDI OR BMW's SIXES!!! We are talking about SUBARU. We are talking about SUBARU's LEGACY trim lines. FACT IS THAT SUBARU'S FACTORY SIXES AREN'T AS FAST AS THEIR TURBO 4s, in higher tunes, like Legacy GT and STI. That isn't set to change anytime soon. The Legacy *GT* is sportier than the 3.0R. The 3.0R is only available with an automatic, and favors brown and gray colors, and mostly tan interiors. In the ABSCENCE of the LEGACY GT, the 3.0R is not as sporty as it's competition. The G35 6MT Sport sedan is sportier. EVEN the G35X is sportier, if you want an automatic. It still has more than 300hp, and AWD. The 3.0R doesn't have that kind of power available. The A4 2.0T DI Sport Line is sportier, albeit more expensive than it needs to be. The Pontiac G8 GT is going to blow that segment away, even being a bigger and heavier car. If Hyundai does offer a sport-tuned version of the Genesis Sedan, with it's Tau V8, it as well is going to be a segment buster. If I were looking for a new sport sedan in the $28-38k arena, and the Legacy GT were not in the picture, I would buy another brand before I would buy the Legacy 3.0R. It just isn't as sporty, because SUBARU doesn't tune it that way, and doesn't have the power in their H6 to compete with those sportier cars. Speaking of Audi and BMW 6's, I would choose one of those used, something like an E46 ZHP 3-series sedan with a 6-speed, or something else like it, before buying a non-performance-oriented Legacy 3.0R, or whatever they choose to call it in the future. The Legacy GT is light enough, and with a traction advantage, that with 300hp, is as fast and as fun as some of those other cars.
