SubieDriver
The STI Legacy is already out for other markets. This says unspecified GLOBAL debut, pointing towards Forester, unless the Exiga is heading for production. Also, the STI Legacy for USDM is rumored for SEMA, not NAIAS. basbal241b
Another thing, I dont know much about SEMA, but if Subaru were going to announce a USDM STI Legacy wouldn't they have a press conference scheduled?? I looked at the schedule and didnt see anything for Subaru....please correct me if im wrong because i really want to see them bring the STI Legacy here
psi365
Haven't we been down this rumor mill a few times already? http://www.legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=66891 http://www.legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=67869 http://www.legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=69464 I don't know how many times we've all gotten into the debate as to if the US will see a LSTi/tuned by STi version or what is should or shouldn't have. SEMA is what 1-2 weeks away? Lets just see what happens and go from there. Trust me if hte price is right I am going to be very hard pressed not to trade my 08 sB in on one especially since Cobb is being hush hush about the AP2 for 07/08 cars. WhiteTiger could you do us all a favor and report from SEMA as soon as you find out what the "it" car Subaru brings out? BTW the LSTi wheels are made by Enkei, and for a true LSTi don't forget the Brembos.

Legacy BoB
If I were SOA I would do the limited run with the sti legacy, make 500 for 09. Most of the drivetrain upgrades you can take our of the impreza, for the suspension use the spec b's. Paint it WRC blue, maybe stick in last years spec b seats in with the blue inserts. The cost would increase would be probably fairly small over the spec b to build, so worst case if they didn't sell you would lower the price on maybe 500 cars, if it sells out quickly you just look stupid for not doing it sooner. 2010 is when the next redesign, so you figure there wouldn't be a sti for that or maybe even a spec b, just cause that seems to be what they do. So that would give you a year after the sti test run to determine if you would want to go into full production with it, or go limited, or not at all, and whether to keep the spec b or get rid of that too. psi365
To C/N a lot of what was said in the threads I linked to basically came down to a few things. Most guys wouldn't pay sB money or above for a LSTi if it was only 300/300 and the rest being the tuned by STi LGT. People would maybe consider paying the sB money or more if it was the tuned by LSTi with a H6 single or twin turbo. They may consdier a Tuned by STi car, if all color exterior and interior colors are available and nav was optional. Most people said for around sB or more money they'd just get the touched by the hand of god 335i. It basically got to be pointless cause no one could agree unless you pay next to nothing for Carrera Gt performance. As far as limited production they did that in 07 with the Wrx STi Limited which sold out pretty fast. To my knowledge they aren't planning on doing that again. Once the 800 sold that was it. Originally the sB was a limited edition car that turned into an option package in 07. Some have said that every year the sB has been made less of them are built. So 06 was the highest selling year for sB's.

SubieDriver
So all those rumors of an announcement regarding a Legacy tuned by STi may have been just dust in the wind. On the other hand, they could still make an announcement without having the vehicle at the show... I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
kenzo
"Show display cars include: ... -- Subaru Performance Tuning (SPT) WRX 5-door outfitted with signature SPT ... battery tie-down ..." tallguylehigh
Wow, not even a mention of the Legacy in the press release. Ah well, can't say I am suprised. Hey are they hiring engineers in Cherry Hill? I think I could apply a good dose of common sense down there!!
SubieDriver
I think you'd have to move to Japan. Not much engineering is done in the US for Subaru.
