Legacy_Otaku
Hey Edmund, Very nice. Glad you've found a setup that makes you happy. Can't wait to hear it one of these days.
CasopoliS
FYI I have some stock cans for sale. They are polished, and can be found in the FS section. For those interested, you can do this mod and still keep them polished - or do what Edmund did and paint them flat black I am also a fan of the sound out of the Autospeed CBE. praedet
Anyone try the COBB Y yet? I am looking at that and welding in my own, larger than Perrin, resonator. Do we have clearance for a 6" around resonator under their? Ted

mickeyd2005
Nice. I might do this after I replace my downpipe (still have stock 3rd cat section). BTW, I found this on the internet. It's a description of the JDM Spec B Type D muffler. It might give some people some ideas. http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r69/mickeyd2005/JDMSpecBmufflertypeD.jpg

underpowerd
but would it be possible to offer even some crude illustration, ed, on precisely where the cuts are best applied, then what to gut once inside? i.e., just remove the baffle wall, or a just good portion of the internal pipes, or both?, etc. much tia

edmundu
Likely just how my camera captures the sound. Actually sounds like every other aftermarket exhaust, except it is much, much quieter. Words can't describe how muted the exhaust is now. Especially when under load. I know exhaust sound is very subjective, but this is no where near raspy, it is really a snarl, a muted one....This is one of the things that hearing in person is much different than listening to a video clip. psucaptainkickass
+1 this is my setup. Had the entire Perrin CBE for a grand total of like 6 days before I took off the Perrin cans and put the stock ones back on. I don't have the stock cans modded. But I love the subtle sound. Like edmundu said, only an LGT owner will notice the difference.
HansGT
I'm thinking of quieting down my magnaflow cbe. I love it most of the time. My wife . Just curious how much a 12" resonator would silence it? 10%...25%? Anyone have any suggestions as I like the look, price and performance gain. psucaptainkickass
^ Real racers don't buy Legacys. (Yeah I know I know, there are some gutted out cars here, and avid autocrossers, yadda yadda.) The Legacy can work as a racecar, but there are better platforms. Although there aren't many better platforms that can race AND haul people and groceries...
