I bet we'll see the Tuned by STI w/ at least 280 HP. Something 20-30 HP below the Impreza STI.

I believe the Aussie LSTI is only 265 hp, with the GT at 250. I hope we get more. They should have the Spec.B at 265-270 and the LSTI at 300 (especially with the rumors of the Impreza STI going to 320).

if the Impreza is NOT 350... then god save the queen.

The Spec B... sure a power increase would've been nice but they wouldn't have had two different tunes for the GT platform.

Now the STI platform for the Legacy makes more sense since the OE equipment is better and can handle the increase in power anyways.

They all are: Japanese, Aussie, NZ, etc. It's basically an STI trim level on top of the Spec.B, thus you get all the Spec.B parts as well as the STI parts. That's why the STI Legacy is substantially more than the Spec.B.

Anyone know whether or not the Bilsteins on the 'Tuned by STI' JDM or ADM car are the same as the ones on their respective market's vanilla spec.Bs? Since someone pointed out that the ADM STi is an STI enhanced spec.B I was curious if adding some particular STI spring setup would bring the plain ol' USDM spec.B up to the suspension levels of the 'tuned by' versions. Anyone?

I believe they are the same struts. The STI version adds STI springs, sway bars, strut tower brace, braided steel brake lines, and Brembo brakes (and a bunch of non-handling-related stuff). I have seen a picture of a set of suspension pieces that are added, but the struts don't change.

I'm betting it's just the standard "tuned by STI" with upgraded wheels and brakes. I bet no engine upgrades.

I bet you are wrong.

Ever seen that kind of brakes on an ordinary 280HP JDM WRX STi? IIRC, only special-edition's like the 320HP type RA-R get that.

WRX STI Spec C Type RA-R

At the end of October, 300 2007MY WRX STI Spec C Type RA-Rs were open for ordering. These cars are based on the WRX STI Spec C. The wheels are changed for 18 inch, STI-branded, Enkei-made, white wheels. The engine has been blueprinted and balanced. It produces 320 ps of power. The suspension is stock full of the latest STI parts from the STI catalogue. The front brakes are 6-piston brembo brakes. The brakes are made so that they change from silver to gold when heated from usage. The rotors are slotted. The 2nd R in "RA-R" is stated by an STI engineer to mean "Radical".Feb. 2007 Edition Best Motoring Interview of STI engineer @ 7:00 (link has been removed)

dunno. That's bass-ackwards thinking. Then again, it's Subaru.

Well, let SOJ know what you think. The US market is very important, and may stop SOJ (screw SOA, it's just useless!) from ruining our Legacy!!

Now you guys are talking. From my converstaions with the SOA people and several people who have had work farmed out to them from SOA, SOA doesn't have jack shit to say about anything. They make no decisions. They are completely understaffed and don't have a functioning corporate structure. Most of the people who work there are middle aged to near retirement age and they basically do what SOJ tells them to do. If we want anything done, we should contact FHI directly. Unfortunately there is no online form for that. If you check out the page you can get lots of information about the managements plans for the future and how FHI views the US market. I suggest to all that they read the annual report which can be found on the investor relations section of this page: http://www.fhi.co.jp/english/

Agreed. Do we know anybody who would be willing to draft a letter in Japanese for us? Perhaps if we composed a letter expressing our concern about the lack of desirable products in our market and point out things like how many times we've contacted SOA and that according to their investor relations material we are the market they view to be most important, we can make some people take notice. We can also point out that it is somewhat ridiculous that Australia, who even now makes up such a small percentage of sales gets a legacy STI, and North America, where they hope to have sales equal to their Japanese sales by 2011 gets watered down, porrly packaged versions of their cars. We could then get people to scan in their signatures attach them with their type of car and keep resending it every week until we get a response. By snail mail of course!

If by "sti tune" you mean the tuned-by-STi then you are in luck!

tuned by STi is good, but the final frontier is the S402 that's sort of what me and everyone wants at the very end.....i saw today a black legacy sedan - 05/06 not sure if 07 with the rear windscreen wiper and blackish GT-V like rims...man the car looked good.

hk doesn't get Legacy "Tuned by STi"s =(

Import one yourself (screw Motor Image, they refused to help me get an 07 until all their 06's were gone, so I gave my business to someone else!)!

Do you know any place to get Legacy parts? I may go pick up a notebook in HK very soon.

But it must be formed

to truly get it.
