one bad bg
im trying to find stickers to cover it that look good. so far the rally sticker is 50/50 with people. but i like it and most of my freinds do too. i also had my hood painted satin black but left the scoop green which looks kinda cool and i got a half hood subaru emblem decal on it. Hops
That's funny about the hood... I was thinking about painting my hood scoop satin black cause the clear coat is falling apart. My hood is lacquer-checked really bad, too. I think just about every Legacy from that era has the same problem. Buy my cars!
one bad bg
acually my hood was is mint condition until someone decided to key i <3 hairy men into it, which prompted me to do the hood decal and paint

Jaisawn
New member to this forum, but I've been reading subaruoutback.org since I got the car in April of '08. Just got some new 18x7.5 5Zigen Super6 wrapped in Nitto NT555 Extreme 225/40/18. These were taken with a digital camera and shaky hands. http://photos-c.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs002.snc3/10939_189740293091_646953091_3923236_7549137_n.jpg http://photos-f.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs022.snc3/10939_189740308091_646953091_3923238_7453117_n.jpg http://photos-b.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs022.snc3/10939_189742588091_646953091_3923278_5299304_n.jpg http://photos-a.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs002.snc3/10939_189745243091_646953091_3923366_7199274_n.jpg http://photos-e.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs002.snc3/10939_189746203091_646953091_3923385_5163774_n.jpg Yes, I know I have horrendous amounts of wheel gap. I'm doing research on lowering it, probably gonna go with KYB GR2s and some lowering springs (still deciding what kind). But I'm probably gonna get new rotors and pads first since they're almost gone anyways and I don't like looking at rusty rotors through my wheels. Also, this is my new favorite smiley:
Hops
Very nice! Next I would recommend the top stripe delete! Wagonista and I have done it, along with a few other guys. Really cleans up the body lines. Buy my cars!

And I've been wanting to get rid of those stupid pin stripe decals, any suggestions on how to do it?
Hops
Heat gun, and 3M adhesive remover. I had to order the adhesive remover from Griot's Garage, but a head gun can be had for $10-$50. Check out my pics on this thread... makes a huge difference. There's also a guy on NAUSIOC (Reuben) that can get you JDM goodies for cheap. Buy my cars! wagonista
A razor blade and a careful hand is also pretty useful. I just used the heatgun (harbor freight, 9.99) to heat up the tape, lifted the edge with a razor, and then if you pull it off at the right angle (like 20-30 degrees) you can pull the whole section of stripe off without it breaking. Hops
My $10 harbor freight heat gun died after rolling the wheel wells on my LGT, so I used a hair dryer. It worked, but not as well... so my stripe kept breaking. Buy my cars!
Jaisawn
How do you guys suggest taking the rubber stuff that goes around the outside of the wheel wells off? Do they just peel off?
wagonista
Wait, what rubber stuff?

Hops
Interesting. I don't think I've seen that on any BG before. Somebody could have added that on. Those are on there with adhesive. Heat gun will take it right off, but you'll have some residue left on afterward so you may want to find some of the 3M adhesive remover. Buy my cars! Jaisawn
Thanks, looks like I'll be picking a heat gun up sometime soon so I can get to work on those decals and strips.
wagonista
The line between the two paint colors is actually a color matched decal. The real paint line is just a rough airbrush line. Looks like your decals have deteriorated pretty badly.
Jaisawn
So I picked up a heat gun today and found some 3M adhesive remover at NAPA (the last place on my list of places to look). So a few hours, lots of chips in the paint from the razor, and two burns later I got one side done and started on the other side, I'll finish tomorrow. one bad bg
why are you using a razor. of course your goin to have chips in the paint, use a very dense plastic card, or like object
Jaisawn
I never thought to not use a razor, but my cars paint isn't perfect anyways, and I can always just get some touch up paint lol.
Hops
I used fingernails. And burns? Buy my cars!
wagonista
If you use the heat gun for long enough the panels get SERIOUSLY hot.
