UAVOUTBACKXT
2008 outback XT stroker build Hello after many years I am joining the Outback community and am please to introduce my pride and joy. This car is still a work in progress but here's were she sits now. Enjoy! Being at stock ride height I have the distinct advantage of being able to mash anywhere and every were with no regard. This includes being able to run over zombies. Exterior Rally tech full skid plate Rally innovations light bar PIAA lights Wheels Stock 17" powder coated with Sumitomo HRT A/S P01 235-50-17 winter Tenzo r sport 18" with Michelin pilot super sport 245-45-18 summer Drivetrain Kart boy short thro shifter with bushings Act hd clutch with fly wheel Stock 5 speed. I know it's crazy Once the tranny blows I will either do a full six speed swap with 180 diff and DDC or helical PPG set. I'm sure I left a few things out but this is the bulk of it When originally tuned the car put down 350whp and 355lbs on crap 91 Octane at 19 psi. I swear I would tell 91 octane to got to **** but I don't think satan could make much power with it either. With my current injector issue it is suffering and so I am swapping in ID 1000 cc injectors and doing a retune in a couple of days. Thanks for all of your posts and knowledge to the Outback community. Any feed back or comments are appreciated as I have lots more to learn and still have a ways to go on my build particularly on breaks, drive train and suspension. I will update this post pictures after the new tune. I was under this impression when I could only find one in a several hundred mile radius. I guess while they are rare on the road, we aren't buried in a sea of Camry's on legacygt.com! Sgt.Gator
Very nice...I remember this article from a while ago! Is it still running strong? It's being restored right now at Cobb/Surgeline in Portland. 6 years in storage, it needs some TLC. I will have it on track at the Ridge for ICSCC racing on May 9-10-11. It should be a blast to drive. Nothing like a race track to find the weak points in man and machine. "Good Judgement comes from Experience. Sgt.Gator
I am glad you are doing something with that car, thank you! I wanted those wheels is wearing in that picture desperately lol. Do you have a tread started for it ? The wheels are gone. It has Team Dynamics Racing wheels now. Many folks have asked about those wheels! I see you are from the same town as the car's Builder/Team, Phoenix Performance. You might drop by there and ask Joe Aquilante if he still has those wheels stashed somewhere, I'm sure he'd be happy to sell them. He has a 2007 Legacy GT Spec B Sedan race car shell he would be VERY happy to sell you too! http://www.phoenixperformance.net/phoenix_cars_for_sale.php#2007_Legacy_Spec_B_Racecar There are two threads. One is a revived thread from 2007 about the car: http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/cool-article-05-scca-wagons-floating-around-still-73859.html?t=73859 And the more frequently updated one is in the Pacific NW Regional forum since I will be racing in OR-WA-BC and possibly NorCal: http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/racing-legacy-wagon-pac-nw-2014-217958.html Wagons Rule! So I will look at it when I see it at the end of April. New member here with a rare 2.5gt Wagon 5mt looking to drop the front end a little, it has some ass sag that needs to be taken care of. What are the best springs for stock struts? my struts have a little clunk but when i take them off for springs ill give them some grease. Any recommendations? Tein S-Tech? H&R? I've been looking for the same thing for my car. After doing some looking I have found the s-techs to be terrible so have have decided to go with the h&r's. One thing to keep in mine though is when changing to a lowering spring on the stock struts the life of the strut is decreased as it isn't valved for the ride height and travel the lowering springs give. For mine I am going with the Koni sport inserts and from what I have read they are a fantastic combo with the h&r springs. 2005 Vader Wagon Material Tests on Ringland Failure Piston I should have held off and purchased a wagon instead of the spec.B
goneskiian
Yup. S-techs will pretty much have you on the bump stops. There just isn't enough travel in these cars for that much drop. I don't know if the Eibach Sport springs are still around. I know Epic Engineering (?) resuscitated them for a while too. They are a great combo with the Koni Sport struts. I've got them on my wagon with 1/4" (or maybe 3/8", can't remember now) saggy butt spacers and it's a very even stance. Cheers!
derp
Infamous Performance might have some Epic springs in stock. That's where I got mine. I've been happy with both the drop and the spring rates. I could suck start a snow blower.
Rester5350
+2 for the Koni/epic combo. Iirc the epics drop the front 1.0" and 0.8" rear.
