aperfectlegacy
So before I decide if I want to paint my calipers or not, I wanted to know if anyone out there has done it and if so how it looks. I have a duplicolor caliper kit (in red) for my 07 LGT (in Obsidian Black). I'm not sure how its going to look with the seven spoke LGT wheels. Any photos would help greatly. Thanks all. PhillyWilly
do a search. ive seen a few threads on this. simple answer = looks good. anthing is better than the rusty stock look. red on black is nice!
mwiener2
I just used G2 Caliper paint. Applied with a brush. Up close you can see the brush strokes and the roughness of the underlying stock cast calipers. But from normal viewing distance (face not in spokes) it looks fine. http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a257/mwiener2/IMG_1454.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a257/mwiener2/IMG_1452.jpg My Mods List (Updated 8/22/17) 2005 Outback FMT Running on Electrons
muddy02
red on red if you like http://www.legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=60331 It's not about speed, it's about acceleration!
aperfectlegacy
The red on red looks great muddy02. I hope my kit gets that same "glossy" appearance that your calipers have. Thanks.
motoracer
just make sure that you clean the calipers really good before u paint. i bought 2 cans of brake clean and a nylon bush and cleaned the calipers 2 times before i painted w/ the duplicolor brake caliper paint kit. Infamous1
I wouldn't do red, it is a bit cheesy. I painted my calipers black with high gloss duplicolor paint.

Waxiboy
why would you want to draw attention to the stock calipers with the red paint? IMHO the stocker only deserve black if you want stealthy or silver if you want clean looking.
muddy02
i don't think it's any sort of false advertising, they are subaru brakes, i didn't put a brembo or porche decal on, and i have a GRP car. i wouldn't have done it with stock rims, but the wheels i have scream "look through me!". i think it balances out the look while in motion. aperfectlegacy
Why not draw attention to the brakes? Just because they are stock doesn't mean one shouldn't dress them up a bit. Here take a look at this photoshop.
