wukindada
Don't know guys.....I actually like the 5 door hatch. I may just have to give it a look, now since this is based on a Legacy platform will the insurance rates be like ours?? If so:):) The current STI was never a option once I found out ins would run another 1200 a year over the LGT. One hundred dollars a month buys a whole lot more car and or mods;) Toyota 6EATS .........SUCK!!!!!!
rabydanimal
since this is based on a Legacy platform will the insurance rates be like ours?? If so:):) Don't bet on it. Insurance companies don't give discounts for fuglyness.
Levish
The Artistic Renderings look good, hopefully the final version looks as good or better.
f1anatic
The STi hatch variant won't last. America is so much anti-hatch that when STi will not sell; they will turn it into a sedan.
Nsaglibene
best looking sube yet looks awesome... looks better than the evo X in my opinion and I like the compact looking size. First win for subaru in my book for a while.
BlueDevil
I think it's allright and it matches the style of the 07 WRC car........
LegGTLT
So, for all of you, those who like it and those who don't... Can we agree it looks like an '03 design of some sort... say a Focus SVT w/scoop? http://a332.g.akamai.net/f/332/936/12h/www.edmunds.com/media/news/column/letterstotheeditors/03.oct/04.ford.focus.svt.500.jpg http://www.roadandtrack.com/assets/image/2007/Q2/4192007192038.jpg Please PM joeleodee For All Site Questions. stash360
I think the hatches are amazing. Again, I'm one of those wagon guys. It's better than the previous flying wing version, in my opinion. Hooray for a revised grille design too.
SLegacy99
Pros: SI Drive, More power Cons: subtle wing, ugly, feminine, ugly People dested the Tribeca exterior and it took Subaru two years to fix it. I wonder if this will be the case here. I wonder if STi sales will go down because its only offered in a hatch. And this hatch looks like it was designed for tools such as Carson Daly. SLegacy99
The STi hatch variant won't last. America is so much anti-hatch that when STi will not sell; they will turn it into a sedan. Exactly. No more Civic hatch either.
4S-TURBO
i still "detest" the tribeca as a concept. i think an sti hatch is a good thing. 04,05,06,07 sti sedans. if you want a sedan take your pick. if you want a wagon, oh wait, a hatch is even better... chenc544
Mitsu just realeased these today. It's called Evo X "Design Study"... Pretty much it's as close to the production version as we going to see until Mitsu makes the official unveiling. Looks like the R&T did a pretty good job with the rendering. http://www.autoblog.com/photos/mitsubishi-lancer-evolution-x-galant-fortis/ http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/04/jdm_lancers_hi02.jpg http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/04/jdm_lancers_hi04.jpg http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/04/jdm_lancers_hi05.jpg http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/04/jdm_lancers_hi03.jpg
panamajack
The tires are different on the driver and passenger side.
chenc544
The tires are different on the driver and passenger side. Yeah, I notice that too. The JDM passenger side has Advan Neova, not sure what driver side tire is. I bet driver side has 17" wheels with A/S tires and the passenger side is the optional 18" with Advan. 4S-TURBO
i want the sti and evo to have a baby so i can finally buy the perfect ugly rally car i've always wanted...remember the mazda 323 gtx...
crazyjay1089
I want to know what turbo and intercooler the new STI is going to use. The WRX has the LGT engine (turbo / TMIC and intake). Is the new STI going to use a "Hot" version of the LGT engine???? Or is it going to be like the old one? I hope it is a "Hot" version of our engine because all the STI boys will upgrade their turbos and intercoolers and we will have Stock STI parts that will bolt to our cars!!! YEA!!!! I never really thought of this!! Anyone know the answer?? I know the WRX sharing our engine may mean cheaper aftermarket parts, but STI swaps may be easier and cheaper if they share our engine! Jon in CT
You should expect the 08 STI engine to be significantly different from the WRX.
panamajack
Its all gonna come down to tunability. I hope the STI steps it interior game up, because the lame seats we get here arent cutting it.
j255c
i bet subaru keeps the current design for sti's but made the wrx into our cars engine layout to make it more difficult to just swap turbos haha. 06 TB EVO IX SE stock turbo monster subaru hater

twisted
you guys are over reacting. I thought the bug eye was but ugly then it grew on me. the car will look much better in person. You can tell in the MT photo they did something weird with the lens. Plus so what! This is legacygt.com not nastycock.com. We can bicth and moan about to new LGT when it comes out. I don't see myself going back to a impreza. after what mitsu plans for the EVOX interior/meneties....it'll be light years ahead fo the 08 LGT interior...and its not like the LGT looks any better or has more leg room to offer.....so a step down in segment may not be that bad an idea after all. and on the STI..... puke
