got a link for this one?? assuming injen, correct? are there any mods/bends/extensions/brackets needed in order to make this work? YES, im clueless and itchin to tinker with my base ej25:)

Yes, this is Injen. I picked my intake from autoanything.com, but I can't find it now. Here is another one though:

http://www.eautoworks.com/html/ORD-1-1-1-23454.cfm.

check out post #122 and #131 of pg.9 in this thread. Explains everything. We just need a few parts from Auto Zone, just a few bucks. I'm going to pick up the parts tomorrow, and yes this was on an '07!

I know, I'm ready to mod now too. Its funny how I just found this thread/intake after having my car since February and being a member on this forum for months.

I know by the time I finish modding the hell out of this car, I wouldn't mind having an older Legacy/WRX. Someone say Rallycross? lol

Hey guys, promised pics and clips today and here they are! Clips are close to being there in person and listening to it, slightly off but really close

My friend and his father were in my car for one of the clips, my friend was filming. Sounds nice in person.

Fitment Issue: The position where the vibra mount was to be installed was in a different location so we had to make a ghetto solution. In the pics you can see that we made a piece of metal to hold the vibramount in the right position to support the CAI. Spent a lot of time finding out how to mount and secure that. Otherwise, the install was quick.

Any questions, just ask!

Got a bit more info for you, here is a reply from Monkey:

Hey I just had a few questions about your Injen intake. You bought and extra 1/2" ID moldable hose, what was this used for? Also, could you give more specific details about the 3-way T thing? What needs to hook up to what? I'm going to do this project when I get my intake. Thanks!

You wouldn't happen to have any more pics of the setup would you? I noticed the white connector and the tube coming from it, you just left the tube hanging in the engine bay with the bolt in it? This didnt give you any CEL issues, etc.? I just want it to be exactly like yours b/c it sounds like you had no issues, and it sounds awesome :)

His reply:

I'm just going to cut to the chase ;) This is what I eventually ended up doing... There are 3 tubes in total that connect to the stock intake chamber. There is one that connects to a white connector... just get a large enough bolt that fits into that tube(after you remove it from the white connector) and put a hose clamp on it. The other two tubes then go to the 2 nipples on the CAI. Done deal, no need for a T fitting and no need for the extra hose.

I put the bolt inside of the tube that connects to the white connector. The white connector doesn't do anything and no CEL if you just leave it hanging. When you take it off you'll know what I mean. And sorry, no more pics. You should probably zip tie the tube somewhere instead of leaving it hanging around.

Sorry to revive an old thread, but does anyone know the the measurement in millimetres for the cone filter? I'm planning on getting the APEX'i filter for this intake, and I'm wondering if I need the 75mm or the 80mm, which are both pretty damn close to 3", which is the size of the regular Injen filter.

Thanks in advance for any input.

Now just to let you guys know. The only way you are really going to get the maxim amount of usage out of that intake is to have your car tuned with PP6 from http://www.rallitek.com/rapeecu.html.

I have a 05 2.5RS about a year ago before I got a new legacy. I have the same intake on this car. But when I bought the PP6 and stock there map on this engine.

The thing is the car computer does not know what to do with all that extra air. By tuning the ECU you are letting the car know that things have changed on the setup of the air going in the car and going out of the car.

When you tune a 2.5 with the Injen Intake. The car will scream down the raod.

When the car was dyno before and after we saw a difference on 22hp. That is the kind you can hear and feel.

Good luck.

I think someone stated before that its just too risky buying the PP6 and applying to the Legacy's ECU w/o anyone testing the waters first. 400 bucks is a nice chunk of change just to tune for an intake, and I'm not sure if anyone has attempted this tune on a Legacy. I know I probably won't plan on doing any major tuning b/c this car is a stepping stone to an LGT or STi. What about an ECU reflash?

After having the Injen intake on for 200+ miles, I must say I love it! I noticed that power band has definetly shifted. There is definetly more torque in the 3K+ range now. Lost a bit of torque in the lower RPMs, but not very noticeable. I'm sure a good tune would take advantage of the CAI's capabilities. The sound is awesome, there is a low hum around 2K when cruising. WOT in 2nd/3rd gear in a tunnel, parking garage, or downtown Norfolk is amazing! Also when accelerating slightly in 1st through 3rd gears, you can definetly hear the air being sucked in, then it kinda blows off when I hit the clutch. I also have the hydroshield, so that may change the sound. Definetly a good buy, no evident issues yet w/ rough idling and no CELs. I used the t connectors. I will have pics up soon also.

I agree with boxer on getting the car tuned for best results, but $399 is steep especially after spending $250 on the intake to see 22hp. If your gonna put that kinda money into it then you might as well go with the cobb cams and do it all. cool to know that people are picking the CAI up still.

So after i drove around with the windows down freezing, almost got pulled over, and wasted all my gas. I came home to post this thread on how the 05 Impreza RS intake FIT on my legacy.:)

It was def worth it to get the awsome sound of the cold air intake. I am gonna put up sound clips when i get them edited but i just wanted to update you guys.

where'd the airbox go?? would this work with an 08 pzev?

When you install the CAI the stock air box is removed. from what i know it will work with the 08 leggy. I think you will just need to get a T fitting for the extra vac line.

Sorry I'm lazy guys and didn't fully read through the full 18 pages. Anyway, to be sure, there are no CEL's reported by using this intake right? And to fully take advantage of the CAI, it's recommended that you tune the ECU as well correct? If so I'm definately interested in modifying my engine now that there are viable options.

Can someone please tell me where this intake was purchased from ? The OP does not mention who makes this intake and where he bought it from. This picture surfaces in this thread as well but mostly in the Intake for 2.5i !!! thread but if you post something, tell the source.

Thanks.
