1992 Honda Civic Ex

- From 1999-2001. I had this car after high school and I drove this car like i stole it. It's life ended from a failed cylinder, it's currently being ressurected.

2001 Ford Mustang Cobra

- From 2001-2003, This was a badass car until the 03/04 models came out. I had to sell it to my dad due to high insurance rates, $550 a month!

1995 VW Jetta GL

- From 2003-2005, Picked this up from my brother and got me where I needed to until the timing belt broke. It now sits in my driveway needing head and belt replacement.

2004 Honda CBR600 F4i

- From -2005-2005, Owned it for 4 months and then got into a 10mph accident. Damage was not bad at all, but it was enough to total out the bike.

2006 Subaru Legacy GT

- From 2005- Current, This car Rox3rz!

The motor was even marked 'H.O.' I thought it had 110hp! Mine was blue....actually, a similar color to my LGT. Sadly, even with 15" 'performance tires', my '87 Accord with 13" all-season tires handled better :icon_frow

Around that time, Ford was putting Michelin "TRX" tires on the some Escort GT's and EXP's. The tires were good for about 10,000 miles and they were the only ones that fit the wheels. I think it was some crazy metric size. The tires weren't cheap, either. Michelin must've made a fortune on that deal; they probably gave the OEM tires to Ford.

I put some Falken's on the car, as the stockers were toast when I bought the car with 36K miles. The exhaust was rusted out....three year old car. WTF? My car was totalled in a bad accident 15 years ago this month (just a few months after buying the car). I got hit head-on at 55mph....the firewall was moved back about 16 inches and pinned me in the seat. So, bruised knees, a laceration from the stupid auto-seatbelts and 25 stitches in the back of my head from the silly 'sport' headrests made of plastic. If it happened today, Ford would have had a lawsuit on their hands for the poor choice in safety equipment. It was a different time then.

I should dig up the pics and scan them and post....a sorry excuse for a twisted wreck of a car. The fireman were nice enough to turn it into a convertible for me

I did get a free ride to college on State Farm's dime....it was their decision to settle as they didn't want me to sue the guy who hit me (didn't plan to, but I wasn't about to turn down free money).

Mine was that really dark red color and the paint sucked. Shortly after buying it I did what every male new/new used car owner does...I waxed it. The white rag I used for buffing was red by the end.

Funny story. I was living in MA when I owned the car and I was going to friend's house one day when a cop starts tailing me. I knew they were checking something about me and my car. Anyway, I was almost at my friends house when they began tailing me and when I got to his house, I just pulled over to the side of the road and parked in front of his house. They pull in right behind me, jump out of their car WITH their hands on their guns and order me to stay in the car. Ok, now I'm shitting bricks. One cop comes up to me and asks for the usual info while the other guy stands behind my car, hand still on his gun. I ask what I did wrong and the cop says they're looking for a Ford Mustang GT that fits my car's description. I politely inform him my car is a Ford Escort GT. He walks around to the back (thank God I didn't debadge back then), looks at the hatch, walks back up and says I can go on my way. My friend's watched this all from the front lawn and thought I was in deep shit. I tell them what the cops were looking for (I was still in shock and the stupidity of Escort/Mustang hadn't sunk in yet) and one friend summed it up best, "what dumb asses".

The Bug was the best car I ever had and the most fun.

My '71 was absolutely indestructable and I was a teenager so I tried. Power lines, sand pits, logging roads...I went everywhere in that car. I climed a sand pit wall that my friend riding in the passenger seat told me he would take his Jimmy up all the time. We got to the top and he's laughing his ass off. I said , "what?" He says, "I'd never take my Jimmy up that wall...you're f-ing nuts!" One day while snow bank blasting I ripped the front right fender almost completely off...it was basically hanging by headlight wires and a bolt. It dragged the whole way home. I fixed it by drilling holes in the fender and body then held it on w/ cable. The sun/moon roof was big enough to get 3 people out while underway or climb out and ride on the roof and 'surf'. People would pick-up my car and 'hide' it on me at school since it weighed less than 2,000. I'd walk out and it would be parked in a different place. One very snowy winter, it was picked-up and placed on top of a 6' snow bank...they told me it took over 25 people to get it up there. Another time they completely burried it in snow boulders. Did you know that if you removed the spare tire that a keg fit perfectly in the wheel well? Or that over 2 cases of beer and ice fit in the wheel well? There was a small hole in the bottom that I plugged and would just unplug to let the water drain out. I called it the Beer Bug. I could go on and on with stories about this car...It was soooooo fun and such a target.

I know this is a Subaru forum but I gotta tell one more Bug story.

My wipers broke during a trip back from Niagra Falls to Toronto (1.5 hours) during a snow storm!! My girlfriend had to operate them by sticking her arm out through the opera window while I kept driving. She was such a good sport I married her.
