  1. … and which Legacy do you have, Norskie? I will say that my 2015 3.6R is wayyyyy better in the snow than my 2005 LGT ever was. While the OEM LS2 tires were not the greatest, it was more predictable than the rear-wheel bias of the LGT with the fatter low-profile Conti's in the snow. Just replaced the tires with Yoko's this winter and it is already better.
  2. Heh … I have had issues with the HU recognizing the USB directory since I got the car in August 2014. Sometimes it's there … sometimes it's gone. Shuffle sort of sucks too.
  3. Because my driveway is a PITA to back in to and out of habit, I still turn and look as with the last 3 Outbacks even though the 8 inch Multimedia screen puts the 7 inch screen in my 3.6R and the teeny-tiny backup screen in the boy's Foz to shame. hehe
  4. You would be surprised how many other cars do it this way. Trust me, the other light and 3rd brake light and flashing light SHOULD be enough to get some attention from the person behind. Honestly, I always thought the amber blinkers were 'lost' with the brightness of the LED brake lights.
  5. Actually went with Osram Zevo's from Advance Auto. Way cheaper than DD, and definitely an increase in brightness. Can see it in the backup camera and against the house when backing into the driveway. Had to do it right away to the new OB because the windows are so tinted.
  6. Installed Diode Dynamics Tail as Turn with backup modules. Sweet little upgrade! Glad to get rid of those lame amber turn signals and the LED's really pop. Did LED's for turn as backup and backup lights while I was back there. Bright as all hell. Like it so much I might do the wife's 2018 Outback Premium. Just replaced the license plate lights with LED's and backup lights on hers. Headlights and fogs next ...
  7. I only got Mirrorlink to work in 2014 with my old S5 with Android KitKat. Once it went to Lollipop, it never worked again.
  8. Finally got around to upgrading my HID bulbs from the lame factory Philips to Osram 6000k to match the color of the 55 watt LED H16 Driving lights. Looks awesome!
  9. Finally! Got my SMS messages to work again. After spending weeks of having my phone ping and seeing the blinking green message light and nothing showing up on the HU, I removed the phone, then re-paired it. Although I originally had to do this after the first and second time they did update, and BT and the phone worked fine and my contacts transferred every time I started the car, I wasn't seeing the messages. Who knew?
  10. That's the thing with software updates ... fix a couple things ... break some different ones!
  11. Now that I have it, the screen is a little laggy in response, the backup camera is back to taking a while to engage/disengage, and I'm no longer getting text and calls showing up on the HU even though the BT was re-paired and everything is set up correctly. Nice update!
  12. Sadly ... there is. Just check the versions on the unit after the update. Probably not in the instructions, though. (This is probably difficult for me to understand because I am not a qualified, certified Subaru service technician, but do write/code/configure systems and software for a Healthcare System and a Hospital and not updating a car )
  13. Went back to the dealer today. They re-installed the software after I explained why I didn't think it was installed correctly. Dash Compass is now operational as are Turn-by-turn instructions. Had to reset all my station settings and re-pair my Bluetooth phone settings. Mirrorlink still doesn't work with my Galaxy S7.
  14. Just checked ... DB version is 9011, others are at 9017. Pisses me off that I need to tell the dealer that a TSB is applicable ... then how to correctly install the effin' thing!!!
  15. yeah ... got it done at the dealer yesterday. Now the dash compass is inoperative, turn by turn instructions do not appear and Mirrorlink still doesn't work. Need to check the version tomorrow.
  16. Replied to the other thread. Dealer said TSB 15-205-16 Not Applicable to my 2015 3.6R. Was looking forward to MirrorLink 1.1, and not constantly seeing the "Loading" message (and accurate Average Lifetime Fuel ... which has been discussed before, hehe)
  17. Very nice guys! Gonna give mine a nice detail on Labor Day weekend for it's 2 year anniversary. Still looks great.
  18. Actually, brake maintenance is part of the routine maintenance schedule. Our 03 Outback was well maintained, but because it had such low mileage and went on longer maintenance service intervals, the slide surface on one of the front calipers rusted, preventing proper operation and prematurely wearing out the inner pad. Ended up totally wiping out the rotor and caliper. Ka-ching! Checking the caliper and cleaning/lubricating the pins and slides are key, and highly recommended by Subaru.
  19. Nice ... the black is so stealth (and totally badass) looking!
  20. Sorry ... not having much time on the boards anymore where I have a new job and now commute from Dracut to Cambridge instead of Nashua, NH and have been travelling for training. Yeah, I have never had to deal with the route 3 and 128 thing before and that's been a real adjustment. The LGT was a stock dark gray 08-ish where there were reflectors on the rear bumper. Don't think it was a Spec-B. Not like he was going to get anywhere fast in the next two miles! I drove my LGT for 9 years and yes, I did get on it sometimes, (... like my 3.6r ... and my Mustang GT ... and my old 71 Barracuda ... ) but at least I had the sense to respect the traffic and conditions. FWIW, I still wave and give thumbs up to the LGT's and nod approval to the WRX crowd ... but not sure if I get any response where I am in now in a Black on Black 3.6R Limited luxo-cruiser (with my Trunk Monkey sitting on the rear deck waving bye-bye to anyone moving slower behind me).
  21. Some douche in a grey LGT driving like a total dick during the 6am commute almost took me and my 3.6r out on the Lowell Connector this morning ... does that count as being spotted? There was no thumbs up and 'Subaru Love' from me.
  22. Checked today. At 4k on the last oil change ... no use!
  23. I'm still holding my breath for a newer rendition of the Turbocharged Legacy GT.
