Going BIG again!

I decided to sell my 18" BBS wheels so that I could install some larger brakes to go along with my upcoming power mods. Unfortunately that meant I had to sell the BBS rims since they have very little caliper clearance. It also meant that I had to get some new wheels that do have good caliper clearance.

Since I had the first LGT on 19's I decided to go back to that size since I loved the look so much when I had them. I ended up getting some SSR D5R 19x8.5 50mm offset wheels. Bronze with a polished lip, 3 piece with a cast center and roll forged rim sections. Not light, but not unreasonable either.

Based on some good reviews and their low price I wrapped them in 225/35/19 General Exclaim UHP tires. Before anyone asks why not something wider for the tires, I'm pretty sure it's going to be pretty close to rubbing the fenders as is and unless I wanted to spend $300/tire for the rare 245/30/19 size, 225/35/19 was really the only sensible option dimensionally.

I won't be able to get them on my car for a couple of days since I dropped off my car at the dealer for some minor work but are a few pics of the rims. They'll look a lot better after the tires and cleaned and dressed.

EDIT: Added pics of the wheels on my car in post #40 of this thread.

Paul,

when are you planning to go BIG on the power side of things? :icon_conf:icon_wink

Just waiting on my injectors to come back from being cleaned and flow tested. I have all the other stuff I need otherwise, and I'm planning on starting to install everything next week, provided my car is back from the dealer by then.

how wel do they fit, can you get some side shots so I can see how far they stick out near the fender, Thanks

I won't know for a few days since my car is at the dealer for a couple minor rattle and paint issues. I'm hoping to get it back soon so I can bolt on the bronze secksieness that is currently gracing the floor of my kitchen:lol:.

WOW THOSE LOOK AMAZING, but i have a few questions that hopefully you can answer....

1) Do they come in other colors besides bronze?

2) Where did you buy them or where can I find them online?

3) How much were they?

4) They are 8.5" wide, will they fit without having to roll the fenders??

5) How heavy are they?

Thanks to whoever can answer those questions....LOVE THOSE RIMS!!!

I think you will really like the generals. you will have to wait a few hundred miles for the tires to break in then their great. You will notice they are much smoother then falken.

they were originally alot more thats the clearance price

Yup, they were originally $450 a wheel. I just couldn't pass them up for the price. As for weight, I put them on a scale and the wheel/tire combo weighed in at 45lbs. For reference my race wheels (17" Rota's with 225/45/17 Falken RT-615) weigh 44 lbs on the same scale. I'm not going to lose any sleep over 1 lb. Anyways, but next week I should have around 400whp, so what's a couple lbs for some bling?
