Leonardo
Goodnews and bad news!! The bad first: The two that go in the lower support that go face to face don't fit as the bushings we have are "solid". TIC: Borrowed this pic: http://turninconcepts.com/forums/reardiffinsert/content/bin/images/large/DSC00021_copy.jpg Two of the four fit so maybee you can talk to Whiteline to see if they make a "half kit" fot the US LGT/OBXT. Wonder if I can get an 08 Impreza to buy just these two. The good news: Take off the nut with a 17mm dogbone wrench (helps if its ratcheting like mine). http://i266.photobucket.com/albums/ii248/Leonardocal/DSC00594.jpg You can see they look like they match!!!! http://i266.photobucket.com/albums/ii248/Leonardocal/DSC00596.jpg Helps a bit if you lube it before shoving it in. http://i266.photobucket.com/albums/ii248/Leonardocal/DSC00597.jpg IT FITS!!!!! http://i266.photobucket.com/albums/ii248/Leonardocal/DSC00598.jpg Put the washer on and replace the nut and tighten. http://i266.photobucket.com/albums/ii248/Leonardocal/DSC00599.jpg Repeat on the other side. http://i266.photobucket.com/albums/ii248/Leonardocal/DSC00600.jpg Driving impresions to come later. Of note: The instructions also mention BL/BP fitment. Pace your orders, install and enjoy!!! As thanks, you guys can do this for me: http://www.legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=95177 Edited August 31, 2008 by Leonardo
Guest
Thanks for checking it. I also have a spare SpecB aluminum cross brace that I've not installed yet and it also has solid bushings - that makes doing "inserts" impossible. OTOH, the brace is easily removed so the bushings could be easily replaced. If someone sold a replacement.... Also, it's not impossible that Impreza cross brace would fit our cars - we could replace ours with that plus the inserts. Guest
Turinconcepts, while browsing your site I noticed replcement bushings for the front LCA bushings for 08 WRX and STI (W0506 and W0507): http://www.turninconcepts.com/product_info.php?cPath=1_9_7_481_1078_1079&products_id=894 Either the WRX one or STI should fit LGT, I would think. You should find out and market them to us... Here is a nice overview of suspension products for Impreza: http://www.whiteline.com.au/docs/bulletins/157%20-%202008%20impreza.pdf Edited August 31, 2008 by unclemat
Guest
Hmm, there is even more interesting products for Impreza, but not for LGT. E.g. KDT903 or KDT902 (not sure which one, two Whiteline documents say different things) - inserts for subframe bushings http://www.whiteline.com.au/docs/bulletins/162-%20P28.pdf http://www.whiteline.com.au/docs/catalogues/WL_0360.pdf My rear STI lateral links with spherical bushings greatly reduced rear end squirm, but it's sitll there, likely due to these bushings. I wonder if the inserts would fit....

Turninconcepts
on the front control arms - we think they should, but we have not confirmed for real, and haven't heard from WL on those. The kdt bushings are the rear diff kit such as you see there, and the rear subframe kit. The part numbers recently changed to the kdt naming scheme. I will ask WL to make a half kit. Guest
Btw, there are STI Group N replacements for nearly all bushings: http://www.rallispec.com/prod_chart_stibush3.htm Some of them like the diff bushings would most likely fit LGT. Likely those for the diff lower support (RST-4155R and RST-4155L).
Turninconcepts
Ok - few things - Front control arm rear bushings - the 2008 Impreza ALK won't really fit without some work. Tony reminded me that someone tried the Superpro kit that all of you guys use on an 08, and the stack heights are different. Front control arm forward bushing - WL has a WRX and an STi version (they are different). One of them may work with the LGT. We need to crossreference part numbers. Rear subframe inserts - don't know. Anybody have pics of them? I can tell you pretty quick. Keep in mind that Tom@Kartboy has also released some doughnuts for that on the Impreza that may also work well for that location. Rear diff mount bushings rear of the diff - there's the WL inserts, there's the good old superpro press in bushings, and then there's the group N ones. Anyway, it seems that WL inserts are the winner (if they work) as they do not require pulling the subframe... ...unless there are subframe inserts/bushings that would make pulling it worthwhile. I doubt anyone will tell you how they look as it's unlikely anyone would remove the subframe. The best bet would be to order new subframe bushing and try the insert. Would be cool if you could do that.

Leonardo
So... Driving impressions? Did this fix the issue definately? I would say yes. Did hear it just a light "tad-tad" but I think the lower inserts we can't use are part of the equation and also I yet to install the auto trany insert. I am pushing down alot of power and lowered so I believe the problem will be fixed for at least 95% to 98% of the people here. Was out for a little bit (breaking in the rotors for the front Brembos) so I'll do a more extensive test later on. I wonder if the whole STi lower brace will fit the Leg GT (looks lighter than ours) since the Impreza suspension is based on the LegGT. I will see if in the dealer I can get them to take out one and try it on my wagon. There is also the part from Beatrush to consider though the bushings will be a cheaper alternative: http://www.japanparts.com/images/ImageFromDB.php?base=1&no=15720 Edited September 1, 2008 by Leonardo

Turninconcepts
Update from WL. Turns out they also fitted a set on a legacy last week, and made this discovery. they are going to be releasing an updated model listing in the next few weeks on what else will fit. Leonardo
Oh crap! Well, update: Noise was there this morning. Wonder if the missing link would be the bushing not installed. Will do further tests today.
rony
Status update? Also, curious how old everyone struts are. Could this be a combined issue of bushing and warn struts? My Car vBGarage
Leonardo
Coilovers fine here and it has been established it's driveline flex. Noticed the noise on right hand starts is almost completely gone and feel a bit more of power being transferred to the ground. Also a bit of HVN (or however you spell it) noise at certain RPM's when coasting. Not much but you can tell it's there. Might be why the bushings are so soft and hollow. The lower cross member seems very different from the 08 STi. Wonder if swapping the bushing and installing the Whiteline kit is possible or even worth it. Could be only if the OEM bushing is that soft or if Whiteline could make one like the Subframe Locks but smaller so they fit in that spot. My opinion? Get these bushing inserts now!! dub strong
i do not think it has anything to do with any exhaust related parts. Something in the driveline is loading up. 5th gear cruising @60mph if i stomp on it, boost will come up and the car will shudder and make a rumbling noise underneath. The engine pulls nice and smooth but something between the flywheel and rear tires is causing this. 4th gear cruising @60mph if it stomp on it,boost hits and the car takes off fast and smooth with no vibrations from the chassis or body. +
