LittleBlueGT
Are most with aftermarket headers using two spacers at each location? Are the included bolts long enough? Two spacers for me and yes the bolts are long enough. Full tune of 68HTA, KSTech 73 MAF, Racer X FMIC and ID1000s................by the DataLog Mafia!!! ejoy1220
Our SSi plate will provide plenty of protection. If you need some plugs to keep mud away from the top of the plate I can provide them. Cost is only $179. Looks like the 'other plate' is $230. Any comments on the install of our SSi plate? Sean S. Is $179 and old price? I'm seeing $199 on the website. Also, anyone have pics/can provide pics of the rubber plugs? I am really interested in this skid plate

Claw
Heh, no wonder the previous generation plates were being cleared out at sale prices. Still though, it's better than the stock plastic plate.

Hops
Subscribe! I just wasted my OEM skid plate and had to cut the rest of it off with a razor blade. I hit a cat and I had to be going about 100 MPH racing a stupid G35... I'm more pissed about the cat than the car, though. http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n121/JDMChizad/0928072329.jpg Buy my cars!
Hops
How hard is it to take off your oil filter with this skid plate? I see there is access to it, but I don't see how you can get in there to take it off. I'm going to assume the new design will make it easier? Buy my cars! gianspi
Sean, I have the 1st gen skidplate. Is this safe to use? Is it being redesigned because of some safety issue? ie rocks hitting oil filter, scraping drain bolt, etc? enough zip ties and duct tape will fix anything. See the pics in this post: http://www.legacygt.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1246628&postcount=174 The first pic - the longer round hole is for draining the oil, the round one is for the filter. Yes, I see there is access to it, but it looks like it would be hard to reach up there with an oil wrench. That's why I am asking if anyone has had any problem with it. Buy my cars! That's why I am asking if anyone has had any problem with it. Oil wrench? Probably not. I just wrap my hand in a clean towel (for grip) and twist it off. When you replace the filter, you should hand tighten it and give it another 1/4-1/2 turn. You might be over -ightening it if it requires an oil wrench. enough zip ties and duct tape will fix anything.

gianspi
I know how to replace an oil filter... I'm talking about removing it! Thanks. I understand, but if you need an oil wrench to remove it, then you are not installing it correctly Don't overtorque it and you will be able to remove it with your hand. enough zip ties and duct tape will fix anything. Hops
^^ The cat definitely didn't belong on that road. It wasn't in a neighbor hood or anything. It's a road we usually race on out here. Buy my cars!
