Mblock66
Well it is night and the car is dirty and the flash just kills how good this thing came out but here are some pics anyway.... It is a stock grill primed and painted regal blue and powdercoated black mesh with a vinal edging so it doesn't scratch anything I will take more tomorrow in the light with no flash. I am sooo happy. Maestro Nobones
so it looks like you mouted the grill mesh flush with the front surface instead of recessed? edit - oh and you colormatched the chrome part too huh? looks nice.
Mblock66
Here are the day pics as promised. I used a hot glue gun to try to hold the bottom of the mesh to the grill since it was buldgeing a little little bit but overnight the glue seemed to "let go" a little so I will try again later. But here are the pics: http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/1223/dscf01049cm.jpg http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/8702/dscf01056nv.jpg http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/6324/dscf01064oo.jpg

Mblock66
Thanks! I am really happy with it. Once I fiddle with the bottom a bit it will be done. It is fine now I just want to make one adjustment
Gire
Nice, It looks just like that other JDM version grille that I've seen before (not the RBS style)... I think Red Beast has the similar one I'm referring to. But your DIY looks great!
Mblock66
Im just having some problems trying to get that bottom to not bulge out. I tried a hot glue gun but it stays at first and then doesn't after a while. I don't know what else I can try. Double sided tape would work but there isn't enough area for the tape to do its job. So the last thing I can think of is some velcro. But that is like double sided tape so I dont know. Can you think of any other really strong adhesives that might bond well? G.T.Subie
Try somthing like liquid nails. Some of that stuff can hold anything, looks good. Denial is your best friend
Guest *Jedimaster*
Maybe you could just use something under the bumper to push it up?

Mblock66
yeah I was going to put the "GT" in the lower right hand corner but I think it looks great without it too. We'll see, maybe I will 3M tape it on there and if I don't like it I can just pull it off. I kinda like the no badge look though
VXCL
good work. am i the only one who actually likes the oem grill besides k2k? it compliments the body lines on the front end perfectly. you just have to paint the chrome surround the body color and your set. can;t wait for some nicer weather. nice job though MAYHEM #122/22 STS NNJR SCCA AUTOX4U.COM XENON RETRO GUIDE
Mblock66
I really didn't mind the stock grill at all. That is why I kept mine. I just wanted a project plus the car looks a ton meaner now. I need to clear my headlights and then it will look sick, but I am too chicken to do that.
