MDork
have you looked at the classifieds on nasioc? usually tons of 17x8 wheels with good tires. or go big and get the 5 spoke prodrives...i think the guy is in ohio. maybe my favorite wheel for the leggy
mbacis
I like the 5zigen, but I'm not crazy about the extra holes either. Out of the Rotas I like the Grid best of those choices, but it's only a 7.5". I struggled between the Boosts and the SDR when I was shopping. The Boost had the extra width, but I like the look of the SDR much more. I ended up getting used SDRs. I do wish they were wider though, 245s would look sweet.
JuxtaGT
Oooooo, Tarmac III's in 18x8, hyper silver, so tempting! How wide a tire can I get on there with stock dampers + iONs, 235's, 245's? Oh, sorry, treadjacking. I vote for #3 if no Tarmac or G-force.
Nsaglibene
GRIDS FTW! Oh and dont worry about SSRS mine have held up great against winter NY and NYC roads. Im on s-techs and stiff re70's... so my kidneys may not be holding up as well as the wheels, im young its ok.
Gire
Tarmac II FTW. If you want cheap but still good quality and good 'branding' and recognition amongst the Subaru crowd stick with Rota. IMHO, better than the wheelmax.com- type stuff.

TSiWRX
I'd actually say to go with second-hand sets for the best bargain - buy local if you "must" see them first-hand. There's enough local Scooby enthusiasts in Ohio (NE, mid, and southern) that you're bound to find a good deal if you can just wait a few weeks. I actually "just picked up" a set of PFF-7s, one wheel with minor curb-rashes on 4 spokes, with 70% tread Fuzion ZRi 225/40/18s, for $700 from a local LERSOC brother who is changing his '04 STi to an '05+ hub setup. <-- I love Winky, my "periwinkle" (ABP) LGT! - Allen / Usual Suspect "DumboRAT" / One of the Three Stooges '16 Outback, '16 WRX, 7th Subaru Family

Garandman
Thanks so far folks! As another option, post another cheap choice if you like. Preferably 17x8 The $500/set BBS RK's you can get from SAAB dealers is pretty tough to beat. The MSRP for that wheel is $282.50. 17x7, though. EL PAALO
if she's giving you the green light, roll now or it will turn red. the ssr's are lighter and wider. at that price I'd be looking at the gram lights 57F as well (17x8.5 +45) just to have a less common alternative. Waxiboy
I'd say keep it stock and save for GC10 or Advan RS. But if you have to twist my arm, Tarmacs for me
Xenonk
SSRs for the win!! TSiWRX
Ted, I think that "anthracite" would look great - but that it's a very common color-combo for white vehicles. Just about every souped-up white DSM you'll see out there has grey/black rims. And yes, mine was that way, too. The bronze could look excellent - but my personal taste would be towards a bronze that would have more grey elements in its color pallet. This, of course, becomes near-impossible to determine on-screen. <-- I love Winky, my "periwinkle" (ABP) LGT! - Allen / Usual Suspect "DumboRAT" / One of the Three Stooges '16 Outback, '16 WRX, 7th Subaru Family
