Carbon Summit
We just got a 2010 Limited with navigation. Come to find out that you can't stream music from your phone, just make phone calls. Very disappointing!!! I'd like to stay factory just so everything still works, like the reverse camera. From what I've read the later ones you could use the bluetooth to listen to music from your phone. Not for sure but from what I've read maybe 2012 but 2013/2014 do work that way. So does anyone have a 5th gen Subaru that they've swapped the radio out of a newer year to get the updated features. And if you have a 2011-2014 that you are able to listen to bluetooth music off your phone so I can figure out what year radios might work for a swap. Carbon Summit
I see my signature says 2007. Got rid of that one (deer hit) still have a 2009 as a work car. 2009 to 2010 was a huge difference!
decoy
I have a 2010 limited LGT and I use bluetooth for music all the time. Also there is a auxiliary jack in the center console if you cant get BT working.
Alexmed2002
My 2013 had bluetooth when we still owned it. Like decoy said earlier, there should be an AUX port inside the center console on the bottom left side if I remember correctly.
moral hazard
Also have a 2010 GT, Bluetooth worked for music until I changed phones (both old and new phone were android). So I believe this is a phone software or settings issue rather than nav system issue. Having said that, I'm still keen to see if people upgraded to a newer system easily and what benifits they found. dgoodhue
2013 is when the Nav radio was updated. The 2012 introduced 2 new radio that could also stream BT, but they don't have NAV. The wiring could be different.
creep_nu
anyone know if the 2013+ can be retrofitted to the 2010 with relative ease?
Falcor
This is interesting. My 2011 works fine with my iphone. I can make calls and stream music.
coco26
I had the same problem initially, its all in how you add the phone to the system. It treats your phone like two different devices (phone and music device). I'd have to go check what the correct menu sequence is, but if you follow the settings for the music rather than the phone, it should add your device for both uses. Carbon Summit
OK an embarrassing update. Radio works just fine. I'm an idiot who needed to RTFM.
Falcor
That's much cheaper than a new radio.
