What did you do to your 4th gen. Legacy today? Vol - 10

Recommended Posts

Went with a pretty simple unit, Bose BV755B. They had it on the shelf at AutoZone for $135 and had solid reviews online.

I'll eventually convert my cubby to a dedicated BtSsm setup.

Looks great. PRO job with that electric tape too!

EDIT: On BtSsm I am curios what have happened to the Arduino project Underdog started.

I glued the rearview mirror back in the wagon today. It fell off the other day in the hot humid weather. 4th day of the heat.

I made a thread about it below if someone wants to look.

I picked up my new bumpers and mounting hardware today. I'm dropping off the car and bumpers on Monday for the re-spray!

Apparently I hit a quantity of 4 for the LH front bumper slider bracket so I have 3 extras..anyone need some?

I also have a spare double din I need to sell, and prova mufflers, 2 front bumpers, 1 hood and a partridge in a pear tree. d8eb3b29f21ff3966fa4166efd1ee4d1.jpg

I just installed a Subtle Solutions radiator shroud that's supposed to fit 05-09 on my 08. Well, very disappointed. It's not even close to fitting.....like really far off.

After looking things over last night I could see it wasn't going to work so I found a forum member that ran into the same problem but ended up bending his shroud to get it to fit. Mine is painted black and I didn't want the paint to start chipping so I decided to instead trim away plastic from my grille mount until it fit. It took a lot of trimming but I got it to fit.

Totally not worth the trouble and I think I'm still going to have to trim some of the shroud because it seems to be putting strain on the radiator filler neck.

Damn. I emailed them to ask about that and they said they thought it would be fine. Good to know, guess I won't buy one.

Not sure if EZ30 would have a different radiator from 2.5 but the grille should be the same. Strange issue for sure.

Yeah I think it’ll fit the 05-07 just fine. They probably never bothered to know that the 08-09 are different. Someone posted here in 2015 with the same problem. I’m going to enlarge the half circle that accommodates the radiator filler with a hole saw. Hopefully it doesn’t look bad.

Went to AutoZone this morning and bought a Duralast Gold and started her up to make noise in the neighborhood for July 4th weekend. So nice to start her up and drive her around in over a month.

can you share a video with sound? all videos on youtube are recorded in LGT 2.5GT

Sorry I took so long to get back to you. I was in Alaska. Just took a couple of videos this morning.

Anyone else interested this is what a 3.0R with raptor headers and a custom exhaust, high flow cats, to JDM Legacy STi mufflers sounds like.

In my city this week they eliminated the covid lockdown. On Wednesday I will go to install the STI mufflers and wilwood front cailpers kit that I get from BoozeRS05.

I will send before and after photos (and video of sound)

Thanks for your video, the sound is very nice and i evaluate buy the raptor headers in the future. You perform repro after install headers-exhaust and STi mufflers?

Shop put it on a hoist, cut the wires off and one guy hammered an extractor socket onto it, used a 5' long breaker bar while 2 guys torched the manifold.

I cannot get my front lower strut bolts off either. Tried a 6' aluminum pole over my breaker bar, basically stood on it and no go...

This is why they make impact tools.

You can try and hit the head of your breaker bar with a 5lb hammer while pushing in the off direction. That makes a homemade impact tool. Sometimes it works.

On the way to the dentist today...check out the mileage.

IMG_1605.JPG.d527aadfd15be62f67e2edc6eff8e283.JPG

July 24th of last year, the car had 294,000 miles on it. I didn't go to VT skiing this past Winter, so not many miles...

The Spec B turned 96,000 miles a couple weeks back.
