Although not surprising as I looked at installing the remote start a while back and they want you to do the exact same thing. I had a little extra time at work and thought I would draw up a little diagram of the wiring, this worked for me and as far as I can tell this is how we are all doing it! Had a question though, does anyone know if there is a plastic cover to protect the LED? It looks as if there is a mounting point for a cover, but I haven't seen anyone talking about it? I just took a cap from a spray bottle like this, trimmed it down to the length I needed, and hot glued it in place. For everything else pigtail and heat shrink/electrical tape is the way to, go unless you want to take the time to solder. andrew_l_s Posted September 20, 2015 Author Share Posted September 20, 2015 You could tie into the dome lighting so it'd kick on when you open the door or unlock the car. If you still wanted it to work with the headlights you'd have to use 2 separate lights or set up a relay of some sort. I remember seeing a kit on the Japanese website accessories list that had blue footwell lights and white "door open" lights integrated into one. Probably outrageously expensive though.
