badtiming
Honestly, until you said something just now, I kinda forgot about what a PITA it is to install while doing the rest of the kit. I feel like I should have warned you about it before selling them to you. Hahaha it's all good man. If you never had any problems I'm not going to worry about it. Apparently on the newer cars the stock wiring is just fine. It's with the older cars that the wires couldn't handle the HIDs.
Streetlegal
Yea the last one is the one I have that I pulled off. I don't think I have the anti flicker/error thing but I haven't had any issues.

snow05gtRI
(I sorta already asked Tris this is another thread, but searching around on the Kensun website confused me) does this kit involve drilling in the headlight back-cap? what are the major steps involved in the install? DRL disable? drill headlight cap? soldering? all plug&play? mounting some hardware in the engine bay?

Besides that you just have to mount the ballasts somewhere. I used zip ties to fasten mine.
snow05gtRI
DRLs still stay enabled? I thought the low voltage would hurt the HID?
badtiming
DRLs still stay enabled? I thought the low voltage would hurt the HID? The DRL are separate from the low beams. I have led bulbs for my DRL, which leaves me without high beams but once you have these HIDs in your low beams you don't need high beams.
snow05gtRI
what year is your car? I think my 2005 uses the low beam as the DRL. i shall investigate. thanks for the info.

MrTris
2005s use low beam as DRL. See the disable DRL thread, but, there's basically a big white plug (IIRC) that you just undo and zip tie up, and your DRLs will be disabled. You cannot run HIDs with your DRLs still enabled, it'll burn them out, too. 08-09s use the highs as DRLs, I believe, which kinda negates the whole issue with the previous iteration. As for drilling, yes. You will need to drill your dust cover (caps that cover the bulbs). It's super easy -- Get a 1" wood bit (the one with the big fat end on it, not sure of the actual name) and place the tip in the center of the dust cap. The plastic casting mark there is a good place to start. Make sure you're level up/down, and then just slowly increase speed and pressure. It'll drill away the plastic real quick, and then it's over with, nice and clean. The other side will be just as easy! That's all there is to the drilling. Other than that, there's no soldering or anything like that. I chose to mount my ballasts directly to the bottom of my headlight housings, because I had access to them. However, you can mount them and the flicker caps whereever is convenient, as they are weatherproof and can withstand life in the engine bay. Zipties and double-sided tape are recommended. MrTris
Here's a photodump: That drill bit you need, and what the caps will look like, pictured here (taken from the front seat of my borrowed Plymouth : http://legacygt.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=207171&d=1429655475 . . .What they look like going in. . : http://legacygt.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=207167&d=1429655436 .. And what can happen when QC fails. And then you get to experience Kensun's TRULY EXCEPTIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE (They'll send you a new pair! No Joke!) : http://legacygt.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=207168&d=1429655436 "Squirrel finder" Delete mod, which requires headlight disassembly (highly recommended when doing the HID conversion!) : What it looks like first: http://legacygt.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=207162&d=1429655421 . . . Fold down the tab. Completely down. For reference in future HID discussions, this is the part they call the shield. This is what sets the shape, and breadth of your beam, the lenses just put it into focus. Interesting tidbit: See how the bottom of it is flat? But, notice that your beam usually has a "step" to it, kinda like that flat part? Turns out, those lenses actually 'flip' the light over when they transmit it. Remember this if/when you ever decide to make your own shields! http://legacygt.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=207163&d=1429655421 Next, cover the other side with foil tape. (HVAC tape? Not sure. It's literally aluminum foil with an adhesive backing) : http://legacygt.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=207164&d=1429655421 http://legacygt.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=207165&d=1429655436 My modded/blacked out 05 heads: http://legacygt.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=207166&d=1429655436 Finished product: http://legacygt.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=207169&d=1429655475 http://legacygt.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=207170&d=1429655475

rhino6303
I just installed a kensun 6000k kit yesterday. Very easy; I planned on using the stock grommet to run the wires through but couldn't remove the clips on the new harness. I tapped the ballast with a M6x1.0 tap and used a longer bolt to attach it to the headlight bracket. 6000K might be a little too blue for me but I can't say until I really drive at night. im2c0ol
Get Innovited instead a bit cheaper. I used to sell Kensun got a few claims within 1.5yr. Been selling Innovited over two years no customer claim so far. I would suggest you guys get Fast Bright F3/X3 kit are way better. 16' Legacy Mods: 55w HID + XB35 5500k, LEDS upgrades, XB Type T Fog, 20mm SB.
