soba noodle
Changed oil/filter with a genuine Subaru filter and Castrol Edge 5W-30. Then I thought why not and did the following: http://i.imgur.com/8CH0k9Q.jpg Part numbers: http://i.imgur.com/8ENz53c.jpg Rear fog/reflector removed, covers unwrapped http://i.imgur.com/FiAHgkb.jpg Then the rain started... :smt012 http://i.imgur.com/NMrQxEh.jpg Done http://i.imgur.com/vO2HJXO.jpg Was my first ever bumper removal, went smooth as and if not the rain would've been done pretty quickly (should've really done it in a garage but it was nice and sunny when I did the oil change - NZ weather at its best). Touched up a few rusty spots on the towbar while the bumper cover was off. Really like the new look, much more "sportier" and subtle, not sure if I'd colour match the covers - like the contrast (plan B: get another set of outer covers and colour match them ). http://i.imgur.com/9RrRVqs.jpg

soba noodle
Bought a grille unseen, turned out it is a part number J1017AG001 and won't fit (it does fit if you're not picky but there's a small gap at the bottom). Kind of expected it so not that upset and I'm sure it'll sell easily. The grille came in a Syms box with some instructions and fitting hardware, then I found this little packet inside: http://i.imgur.com/alpsMqX.jpg http://i.imgur.com/nw7kbqq.jpg http://i.imgur.com/PP82QEO.jpg McGard license plate lock bolts, not the biggest necessity but still pretty cool and most importantly FREE :smt005
soba noodle
You've seen the braces, how about some grilles? First up is J1017AG001: plastic, metal mesh, logo and central reinforcement piece can be removed completely leaving just the mesh if you're after a stealth look and OEM quality. Too bad it is a pre-face grille and a doesn't fit perfectly. I had a spare set of 18" 3.0R specB wheels for sale that not surprisingly sold yesterday. The buyer also happened to own a pre-face 3.0 and just like me managed to collect a few bits - grilles were the most interesting part for me. Met with him today to drop the wheels off and he brought two grilles in: one OEM and another one crappy quality carbon like mesh. I knew exactly what the OEM grille was and after a short but very successful (for myself ) negotiation I was on my way home with the new grille in the boot. Here we go, part number J1017AG080: all plastic (Subaru calls it resin), badge cannot be removed, dark grey/charcoal metallic http://i.imgur.com/NfoJyu4.jpg http://i.imgur.com/ctQ4W7D.jpg PS: excuse the dirty car

How did you get the amber out of your headlights and tailights?? I'm also lookon to remove my rear bumper reflectors For the tail lights you can get a pair of silver coated amber bulbs. That way they light up amber but look clear when not lit up. I did that too. I believe since his car has the JDM headlights that he can do the same for the headlights. For the USDM headlights you would have to bake the lights and remove the amber bulb cover and get bulbs as well. And yes, Noodle's car is sick. I have been following his build on SLI. Precisely that - JDM headlights are "clean" from factory, all you need to do is just to swap annoying amber for some "silver vision"-like bulbs, got some off eBay.
