Nice! Have fun with it! Remember to take your time. I kind rushed mine, so its no where near perfect up close, but far away it looks fantastic

I've started mine, but still have some finishing to do. I tried to cut the lower lip closer to the leading edge so the mesh sits closer to the front. I should note that the mesh in the picture won't be used except for reference. I plan on ordering some from these guys-

most likely the Black perforated GT aluminum mesh

  • 7 months later...

I re-did my grill and made my own carbon fiber insert. I based it off the RRev design.

I haven't laid cf for years so I wasnt sure how well it would turn out.

If I have to do it again I would just modify a stock insert and overlay it with cf and keep all the tabs on bottom and mounting clips on top.

Any idea on fitment? Bought an Avo grille, and I spent an hour trying to figure out how to make it fit, and still couldn't do it.. Would have required drilling, etc..

I have a Cmods grille with a spec B badge on it. Fits fine

Debating whether or not I want to put the JDM grill on that I bought. Would have to swap the badge over. Not sure yet though. Kinda like how this looks. I'll have to plasti dip the JDM one, since it's white, so I can see what it would look like in black on my car.

That turned out great! Looks awesome. Did you lay the CF over a stock modified grill or did you build it?

Thank you,

I made after making molds. In hind sight just overlaying cf on a modded grill would have made more sense and made it easy to retain bottom mounting tabs and top tab holes.

I'm still very jealous of that grille of yours :)

Today on my way back from mountain biking I passed an absolutely beautiful, super mint WRB 2.5rs for sale. I really wish I could afford it....

So what you are saying is that you have a mold to make more? :)
