I Donated bucko3the7man Posted July 15, 2016 I Donated Share Posted July 15, 2016 Bucko You take it to a whole other level by racing your car which I'm envious of. So go out and do it. Autocross is easier on the car than anything else you can do and it's cheap to get into. It can be expensive, but only if you start to get all SRS BSNS about it. I autocrossed the legacy for 2 and a half years before I bought a separate car that I autocross now, and the legacy is a daily. A 194k original motor original turbo daily. As long as you take care of your cars, they'll take care of you.
KartRacerBoy
Spending on suspension and brakes also counts as go fast parts. Indeed, as do Brembos. No fade on track. My car is stage 2 with Perrin 3" exhaust (all the girls who go under the car get wet just looking at the shiny bits - or so I imagine). Brembos front and rear. Koni shocks, swift springs, and cobb f/r adjustable sways. I always put the sways on loose for track days.
I Donated bucko3the7man Posted July 15, 2016 I Donated Share Posted July 15, 2016 Don't think I've touched my sway bars since putting them on. Hotchkis 25F/22R with the rear on the stiffest setting. 100% happy with how it handles, very neutral with a hint of power on oversteer when wanted. Koni with epic springs all around, again more stiff in the rear than in the front. No brake upgrades other than Stoptech streets since I don't track that car. S2000 is getting some major upgrades for next season though, going to STR with it. Revalved Ohlins for 800F/700R springs, rear sway bar(already have the big front bar), camber ball joints, 17x9s with 255 tires, seat, intake/header/high flow cat with tune on greddy emanage. Throw a corner balance/alignment on it and call it a day.

The cost wouldn't be an issue but the time required to do maintenance and prepare for auto-x events just isn't there.
I Donated bucko3the7man Posted July 15, 2016 I Donated Share Posted July 15, 2016 Just stop it. You're arousing me. No need for the little blue pills when there's talk of suspension tuning huh? I just don't have the time to devote to it as I work >60 hours a week. The cost wouldn't be an issue but the time required to do maintenance and prepare for auto-x events just isn't there. Maintenance = the same shit you do anyways. Prepare = register and bring water. Seriously, autox is the easiest thing in the world to prepare and do maintenance for especially if you aren't SRSBSNS about it.
