I really should have gotten a complete walk around on this one. Hood looked as though it was painted with a roller, stuck up head lights were matching green as the stripes with sticker on headlights stating "lifestyle" what ever that means, effed up front bumper, nice repair on rear, sticker on side: "Tuna, no crust", some little toy hanging off the rear recovery point, complete with hipster kid wearing a poof ball stocking cap.

A VW kit car that survived from the 80s...

Did look cooler than they were at the time. Take all the bad behavior of a VW bug with an air cooled engine of 45hp into a cool bodywork. Throw in a 270hp tail engine and it makes the 427 Cobra seem like a wonder of safe behavior on the track.

It's probably safer to look for rattlesnakes barefooted than to take that car on the highway.

Better warn admin his account has been hacked.

Obligatory 'build thread' Increased capacity to 2.7 liters, still turbo, but no longer need spark plugs.

 • 2 weeks later...

Tree'd the hell out of the other guy at least.

How did he even get to the line? It's not like he was in reverse and just pushed the clutch in without moving the gear lever. He had to be in first gear to get there. And then had to willfully decide to then put it in reverse. The only possible way this makes any sense at all is if reverse is very near first gear on the shift pattern, like a push down reverse lock out or something (on a Honda Civic?). Otherwise, how does this even happen?

Edit: Ah no wait. My drag race inexperience is showing. They reverse back to the line after a burnout, don't they? Answered my own question. ... But don't they back up past the line and then inch forward into the box to trip the light?
