He had forgotten what power was like. As a former owner of a XJR, they are all sleepers. And excel as highway cars. Stoplight to stoplight, no one expects tire-roasting torque for a sedan. My dad had the aluminum bodied XJR with an underdrive pulley and chipped. When the car first came out, the dealer service department had a run on speedometers. The peg would break off and the dial hand would spin wildly. At a certain speed the hand would catch up with the mechanism and everything would be ok again.
