Blackbeard
Attempted meating... 2005 LGT 245/35/18 Pirelli PZero - published specs are 9.8 section width, 24.8 diameter 18x8 +48 (or 45?) TSW Nurburgring 3 degrees front camber (Mooresport top hats, Tokico struts) 2 degrees rear camber (Whiteline rear links) Moderate fender roll/pull all around. The pull up front was completely unnecessary (due to camber) and I'm not sure any was needed in the rear either. It drives great, but it came out less meaty than I had hoped. When these tires wear out I'm either going to try 255/35/18 (I think there's room, but might need a couple mm of spacer) or coilovers and 255/40/18. Or maybe just a wider 245/35. Well see. Can we see a side profile shot please. I'm currently running 235/40/18 with a 44 offset they're just meaty enought for my liking. I'll grab some images to post up in a bit. And just like yours, I didn't need to roll the front, so I didn't. But rears scrubbed like crazy, had to roll those. I was I would paid attention and rolled them first, I've never done it before and had to wait for the roller to arrive. Unfortunately my rear tires paid the price. Blackbeard
After getting use to them, they aren't as chunky imo anymore. Especially after a little rolling an a good alignment. Edited July 15, 2021 by Blackbeard links

Blink
255/35/18 Hankook V12s on 18x8 +48 with a 12mm spacer for rears. Very slight fender roll required. Fronts fit just fine with no rubbing. The 255's on 18x8 are slightly pinched and therefore aren't noticeably wider than 245's. You really need 8.5" or wider rims to get the full effect of the larger tire. NORULZleggy
Question, i just got a set of Enkie TS-5 wheels they are 17x8 +45. I want to know if I can run a 235/45/17 or should I do a 225/45/17? I a lowered just a tab bit you can still see some gap. I am running Enkie TS-10s they are 18x8 with a 225/40/18 and have not problems. I know my stock wheels are 225/45/17. can I go 235s? shralp
I'd also suggest a 235/40 as well. Fitment is great in a 17x8 for our platform

seanyb505
I thought 215/45/17 was the stock size. I've got about the same wheel dimensions, and I run 245/40 Michelin ps4as. Same height, just wider. I think it's probably a bit too fluffy for my driving purposes, but I wanted to see how it looked. It's still a really good tire for spirited daily driving, I'll probably go back to stock or 225/45 for the next set depending on price. I thought 235/40 were fewer in choice and more track based compounds.

boxkita
225 on an 8" rim is "most correct". more section width (the 225 number) doesn't mean more tread. tread width (typically found on tire rack site only idky) is what you should actually care about. Although the smaller the difference between the tread width and the section width, the better the handling should be, all other variables being equal. The closer you get to a race tire, the stiffer the sidewall. Sidewall stiffness overcomes alot of issues. And makes for a harsher ride. These are touring sedans not sportscars. blah, blah Edited August 13, 2021 by boxkita Build my car Boxkita Track days

Cincy05LGT
Here's my meat. 245/40R17 RE71R on 17x9 et45 RPF1's. They needed every mm of inboard room the coilovers provided, and a good fender roll. Recently lifted about 0.5" for autox and track. YourConfused
Looks great! I have 255's on 18x8.5 et45 that I'm trying to make fit. I think i may need some top hat spacers and quite a bit of a fender roll though. How close are you to stock ride height after you raised it half an inch? Thanks Here's my meat. 245/40R17 RE71R on 17x9 et45 RPF1's. They needed every mm of inboard room the coilovers provided, and a good fender roll. Recently lifted about 0.5" for autox and track.
