Uhhh yeah... those are totally Enkeis on my car. *waves hand* Pay no attention to the center caps.

  2. Does this fit the Aluminum FCA's? I am looking at getting a set, but was wondering if getting used and replacing the bushings would be the best bet? I am starting to get some sloppy feelings in the front.

Like the spec-b aluminum front arms? Yeah I'm pretty sure it's the same bushing part numbers. KCA334 (offset/added caster) & W0506.

I'm still debating if I want hold off and go that route as well. Either the mevotech ones or just keep an eye out for used ones.

  3. I think last I checked in I had just installed the catless upppipe I had laying around. Had to replace the front O2 sensor because of all that. Also had to do the driver's side front wheel bearing, as it was starting to hum at freeway speeds. During all that I looked at the front suspension bushings. So now I've got a pile of Whiteline goodies to get on, hopefully before Wagonfest. Oh, I also took the wagon to it's yearly autocross a couple weekends ago. One of these days I'm going to get back onto decent tires.

Top tip, if you haven't done any of these bushings yet (Front LCA, steering rack, and positive shift kit), whiteline # WEK079 is a kit with all of them included. Import Image Racing has that kit for $192, and the cost of KCA334 is generally around $160 alone, so it's definitely a good deal. It's listed for 08-14 WRX/09-13 Forester, but it's all the same parts for (at least) the BL/BP Legacy

  4. So the rear stay is fine, it's this linkage:

    https://www.rallysportdirect.com/part/shifter-bushings/ts-su-473-torque-solution-solid-shifter-linkage-u-joint

Are there any other options available or is this it? I've got some bit of poly mounts in the drivetrain with a ton more coming if I ever find time to install it. This looks like I could tell the oil pressure through the shift knob.

Looks like you can buy it straight from Torque Solutions.

  5. <250 tickets left.

I'd like to have a BP-Pre-meet for all of the guys on and off here, in or around the area. I'll be putting invitations together in the next two weeks or so and then sending them out accordingly.

I'll also blast one out in here and the PNW Region thread for anyone I missed on the list.

Wagonfest you say? I might have to go see what this is all about.

  6. Got a quick question, would anybody mind taking a photo of how the front kick plate trim on the passenger side is mounted? It's the plastic trim piece along the door and under the glovebox. I took mine off a year ago and just am getting around to putting it back. Not sure if the bracket that sticks out goes under the carpet or over it.

    Thanks!

    This guy? (pardon the mess)

  7. I finally got around to swapping the up pipe for a catless one I bought like a year ago. Some HKS or Perrin, one of the solid ones. No pics because I was too busy fighting everything on the car to get it done. Probably should have just fully taken out the downpipe to do it, but I figured losening it would be fine. It did not want to go back into place and trying to wrestle it up after crawling in and out from under the car for 4 hours was not fun. Eventually everything came back together and it started up with no CELs (did the resistor mod). Still have some buttoning up to do, as I got too eager and pluged the header O2 sensor back in before putting the heat shield on. Hopefully work doesn't need me to come in this week and I can just leave the car on stands for now.

Also confirmed that the front driver's wheel bearing is on it's way out, so I've got an SKF one of those coming soon. We'll see when I get to do that, the weather is turning hot again with another set of 100+ deg days next weekend.

  8. Ordered myself a new 2020 complaint helmet, kids talked me into going autox-ing with them.

HJC in matte blue metallic, I won't be first but at least I'll be stylish

Now need to decide whether to order new StarSpec for Mike's old racing rims or try his old rubber they are still wrapped in.

ZII star specs? Those haven't been manufactured in years, I would steer clear of those. Even the ZIII I have a feeling dunlop hasn't made any in a while, so they'd be old date codes.

Falken RT660s are a good, current 200TW offering, and much cheaper than the alternatives.

That may be what AI was thinking of... I think from the picture, it would be easy to reverse engineer it.

Very last pane on this thread has two great posts. The originator, Seeeeeya, will still send out the plans to anyone who asks. (Post #625) Assuming that sourcing material and doing the minor fabrication is up to you now.

And another member, Outback2.5XT-05, has taken up the selling of the kits see post 627. He was the one selling on eBay for a while, but decided to open their own storefront. On a whim I bought the kit from the site yesterday figuring I’d see it in a couple weeks or so. Nope! Arrived on my porch this morning. Helps that it shipped from a town 1.5 hours away.

So I can testify that http://www.bulletproofme.net is legit.

  10. Bought an AP in anticipation of doing a DP & tune at some point in the future. In the mean time loaded up the cobb stage 1 tune. Only seeing ~10psi peak boost. I popped the hood when I got back from the office, and looked around but it was too hot to go poking around. [snip]

Sooooo I've got some exploring in the engine bay to do this weekend.

Took off the intercooler and inspected vacuum lines while I did an oil change this morning. Vacuum lines all appeared to be fine. TMIC is showing signs of separating near the turbo. Would this be enough to cause max 10psi of boost? Otherwise I need to start looking into the boost controller and/or wastegate actuation, right? (Exit side also shown for comparison)

*EDIT* No. Restrictor. Pill. Decided to pull that t and check the two hoses (turbo to t and t to wastegate). Daylight through both. Looks like my next step is sourcing a restrictor pill.
