    Sounds like a boost leak.

Edit: Sorry, I read that as vacuum leak. Boost leak would only exist between the turbo outlet (cold side) and the throttle body, yes?

I pulled the IC and checked the lines a couple nights ago, everything is plugged into where it should be. I haven’t gone as far as doing the soapy water test.

  2. It’s time to create its own post for this.

My 05 LGT has been doing a weird hesitation/stumble/stutter, what have you on mid to heavy throttle between 3k-4k rpm. If I stay out of it it’s fine. At first I thought it was bad gas but it’s stayed through a couple of tanks. From my AP, DAM has stayed at 1, AFR is going to 11 above 3k, no other readings that say something is going poorly. I’ve tried getting a log, but a lot of the time when I try and recreate this behavior, the AP acts like it loses power/connection to the car in the middle of it. You can almost see this happen in the video, especially if you slow it down.

The blinking code is a Cyl 1 misfire. I’m waiting on a new coil pack, and it’s too hot today to go back out and swap it around to see if it is actually the coil.

To add to this, starting yesterday afternoon, it is now making a buzzing (?) sound around 3k RPM. Again, too hot today to go out and pull the dp to check turbo health. I drove to work yesterday without this sound, it sat all day, then driving home it started doing this.

I’m guessing it’s new engine time, but I’m hoping the long time owners can identify some of these problems.

  3. I’ve been having a hesitation/stutter/stumble during mid-hard acceleration from 3-4k lately. I’m still trying to diagnose it. I pulled the intercooler off last night to check vacuum lines, nothing there but maybe it’s time to change the turbo inlet.

Almost looks like someone wrapped the stock one with electrical tape? A brittle strip of whatever that is came off as I was poking around.

  4. *EDIT* Went to take it off again, and probably put enough pressure in just the right spot to have it fall into place. Still don’t think the rubber grommet for the brake and sprayer lines is in place, but that’s something to work on later.

    Wing is on:

Trying to get my madrig wing on today. An I missing something about the stud alignment? I can get two through, and that’s about it.

Took the Camel GT out to some rainy cold autoX yesterday. Really need to find out if it still has a heater core and hook it back up. Car was fogging up pretty good and it was a chilly wet drive with the windows down.  Sliding around was fun though. New Michelin PS4 did great!

I did one autox at Evergreen under similar conditions, and swore off the whole facility. This must have been ~2015 when they were still fairly green on hosting autox, and I still had my BRZ. There was a Merkur pissing all it's oil on the already rainy track and no one was doing anything. Couple that with a very open final turn onto the straight, with a speed readout as you cross the finish line, and it was just asking for people to slam into the wall. Did a couple runs then parked it for the day. I hope they're safer these days.
