Also, again if anyone has tuner and mechanic recommendations in the Spokane, Wa area that would be helpful. I might be willing to pull the motor and bring it to Portland though if I can't find anyone reputable around here.
He was mentioned before, but Dom (https://www.getadomtune.com/) is a really good tuner. I think he only does Accessport for subarus now. I'd also suggest following getadomtune on facebook and reading back some posts before messaging him. He's gotten pretty intolerant of customer BS. He works out of Tier One, which I've heard is a good performance-oriented mechanic/shop. (https://tieroneimports.com/) They're out in the valley, pretty close to the ID border.
Personally I've taken my LGT to Hopkins Subaru when it needed work I didn't want to do (timing belt).

Got her cleaned up for the first time in... years...
Meguiar's Ultimate Compound, Ultimate Polish, and Liquid Ceramic Wax with a 6" Ryobi orbital.
Paint is still in great shape all things considered.
One day I still dream of getting her painted Steel Blue Mica.
Will detail the inside later this week.
What's the tint level/% on this? That looks about what I want to get done on my wagon!

Haven't been active on the forums this winter, but my wagon has just been trucking along, mostly being a mountain resort shuttle. Did an oil change last weekend because I realized it's been over 4k since it's last one... oops.
Looking into an AOS, as I noticed some oil in the intercooler-turbo flange, and intercooler piping when I had it on and off last autocross season. Leaning towards IAG street, as I doubt the Grimmspeed is adequate for even a few autox events a year. Once it gets warmer I also have a catless upppipe to install.

Whats the smell? Is it dirty feet smell, sweet smell, grease smell? If feet, probably the cabin air filter...
Not feet, I'd be surprised if it was the cabin air filter, since that was replaced in March, maybe 3k miles ago. But the car does sit more often than not so maybe something got in there.
Make sure the AC drain hose is not plugged, putting water into the passenger footwell. If you can't find anything...may be park it with the windows open in the driveway and let it air out. I used to leave the windows down about an inch in the parking lot at work on nice days.
Will do. Thanks!

Been getting the "your car stinks." line from the wife a lot recently. Mostly when stopped and the air system pulling from the outside. Which, okay it's an old subaru it's going to have smells. But, the weather should be warm enough to poke around this weekend, figure I should check coolant & oil fittings on the turbo, and check the lines. Anything specific I should check?
Couldn't tell you what the smell is, I'm not good with that and it's all "car smell" to me.

FYI, for those with there stock downpipe sitting around doing nothing. The palatium used to make the cat's is current worth a lot of money.
Last week I took both mine to a auto recycler and got $1870 for the two of them. Google search for auto recycler near me. Call them.
The 05 up pipe is only worth $10 because of the way its made.
I have my stock BRZ header, I wonder if the cat in that is worth anything...

Some goodies showed up today. I ordered the sway bars in August not really realizing it would take a month and a half to arrive. Oh well, at least I have them for next season. Probably will get them on this week.
Got all this on a couple weeks ago, and I think I finally chased down the last clunk yesterday. One of the front endlink jam nuts wasn't tightened enough.
In the end, it was nice to save money with the full Whiteline kit (tire rack was selling it for $450). But their adjustable endlinks are a pain in the ass, something I should have learned/remembered from my BRZ. Doing it over I probably would just get the bars separately, and do Kartboy endlinks. It probably all would have arrived before the end of my autox season, too.

Keep the Spec B, move away from California.

Rock Auto has rebuilt and paint stripped front Brembos for $180 a caliper. I bought another set just because good deal. Not sure what color I’ll go with yet. I’ll have to strip and rebuild my spare rears along with them.
Do these need bracket adapters, and different rotors (04 STI rotors?) to work?

So many questions! I give massive credit to the driving style in the subies (full thrashing 4 wheel skids). The Audi does weigh 4000+ lbs, so IDK if the extra 200 horse is good for that plus the auto trans.
And if they're throwing the RS6 in there, why just the T5 V70? Why not the V70R?

A mild autox is more mild than you think. Changing engine components pretty much moves you to much faster class. But it is damn fun to autox a wagon.
Mild might have been the wrong word. Mild for SM/XSA, no chance for a trophy at a National Tour, but fun locally.
-
All this has me dreaming of how to do a mild autox/street build when the turbo needs replacing in my wagon. My wallet is already screaming in terror.

Well, I was going to autocross today, but standing outside in the orange haze of wildfire smoke all day did not sound appealing. No more race events for the wagon this year. Time to plan for next season, and bust out the PC sim wheel.

my local dealer is 3 weeks out for any appointment. You get a loaner car for an oil change.
Crazy! Mine was only a week out for this service. They were super busy when I dropped it off and picked it up, though.
-
Had my wagon at the dealership for the airbag recall today. No new or worse dash rattling, so that's good.

taking your wagon to the track pretty much guarantees something is going to break every time. You could be the lucky one who doesn't have issues, but historically silver wagons break down on track more than any other color.
Well, at the rate I'm going these days, it'll be another year before I go again. Plenty of time for the car to break off the track.
I assume you're saying silver wagons break down more because there's just more silver wagons than other colors?

Having that happen once, let alone twice, would have me ordering some turkey lord tees (company 23 now sells them)

Thanks, ordered it. Don't want to have to deal with that ever again.

Took the wagon autocrossing yesterday. Obviously very different from my old BRZ. I knew going in the cooper all-seasons that are on this thing would be garbage, but damn. They SCREAM when you ask them to do anything. But, I've got to wear them down to justify getting a better set to the SO.
Ran into some trouble though, it threw a CEL as I was gridding for the second set of runs. P0171. Turns out the dreaded blue T fitting had come out of it's home. Nothing like having to remove a hot intercooler to get to it. Twice. Because it popped out again sometime during those last runs. Time to start bringing zip ties with me.

That looks like an auto dim mirror to me. There's a little plug under the front edge of the headliner. It was an option.

It is an auto dim mirror, but it has all it's stuff plugged in. I'll assume it's just something for a dashcam or radar detector like DaveWaters said. If I ever need to remove the headliner I'll investigate further.

Yeah, very happy customer. Looks amazing.
+80% of the swirling and scratches are gone, in the natural light they're hard to find.
That looks great!
What did you do to your 4th gen. Legacy today? Vol - 10

Bought an AP in anticipation of doing a DP & tune at some point in the future. In the mean time loaded up the cobb stage 1 tune. Only seeing ~10psi peak boost. I popped the hood when I got back from the office, and looked around but it was too hot to go poking around. I did hear what sounded like the coolant boiling in the expansion tank? It's 90+ degrees out today, but the dash temp gague read normal, right in the middle.
Sooooo I've got some exploring in the engine bay to do this weekend.
