  1. I had actually been hoping to do just that with the iPhone scan as most the apps implied it was possible. Haven't found a hot wheels of our wagons. Haven't looked super hard either Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Noticed that one. Also saw the wagon waist spoilers, the outback front air dams that I've never seen before (I assume jdm fitment though), those under body air dams are a bit interesting. It's cool to see these cars are getting, or maybe have been, popular in Russia and surrounding countries. One more source to keep mine alive. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I believe stock should see you hitting 13psi under full throttle I think around 4k rpm. Assuming you're not at a weird elevation. It might be worth it to just go pay for a smoke test since you know there an issue. Hoses get dry and brittle with age and removal, spring clamps lose their strength, gaskets go bad. The big ones to check are along the edge of the intercooler and the blue tee underneath it which is in the 07s still I think. Also make sure you don't have a pre turbo exhaust leak either. 4. Would love to help. I've just been put on a spending moratorium to try to buy a house next year ish. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I mean if you wanna be technical, and I usually do, you shouldn't be driving with both headlamps and fogs on (it's dumb that is the set up from factory.) and if you're going more than 35ish they shouldn't be on either. Properly aimed fog will reflect off the road into people's eyes and they hit the road close enough to mess with the drivers night vision. Bad weather and car shows is where they should be used. 6. Sorry forgot to include an update. I had a hell of a time trying to use the iPhone. I couldn't even produce a mediocre scan of random household objects let alone the car. I wasn't even close to what jmack got. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Doesn't that mean it's time for... more power? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Finally got a few decent pictures on my trip back to my hometown. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Nice what ended up being the trick? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Damn. I emailed them to ask about that and they said they thought it would be fine. Good to know, guess I won't buy one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Rolled over 200k in Tennessee heading to Florida. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. So trying to look up more about lidar and specifically what's built into the iPhone I came across this blurb. “Unfortunately, the mesh output by the system right now isn’t accurate enough to send to a 3D printer,” de With wrote on the Halide website. “But it’s a great starting point for a 3D model, since all the proportions will be very accurate.” Now that's from someone working with the raw output so I think we either need to find an app which will help fill in those gaps, or will have to do stuff manually. It looks like though 3d scanner app has a bunch of functionality post scan so may be able to do it in there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. This is far from a new thread so take your time lol. I think all those things may depend on the app. I was reading overviews of maybe fifteen different ones the other day and so that's just off my head techniques I've seen across all of them. It's also possible that the technology just isn't good enough or that app can't compile that much data. There's a reason paying for one of these scans costs like 3k. My understanding of the iPhones rear lidar is that it should have a really good overall distance and I'd think an app should be able to use the accelerometers to account for phone movement but who knows. Also this is the first iPhone with lidar but not the first phone with lidar. Maybe someone has an android that might give better results. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Was even considering on the extreme end of setting up a movable backdrop and having someone assist me moving it around. Idk I'll have four or five days to **** with it and my folks are retired. Wtf else are they gonna do. Whoa we sensor words now? Maybe that's tapatalk. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Also most default to a more low resolution and may need to have settings tweaked. Most apps seem dedicated towards room layout or small objects so I think there will be a learning curve for something so large. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Some of the scanning apps allow for multiple passes to increase resolution. Also speed of movement and maintaining an exact distance from the vehicle. And also potential conflicts with the background. My plan is to tape out a box in the driveway so I can make sure my body placement is precise and try a few different hand positions. Based on what I know from rock climbing holding the phone in very close should be easiest. Maybe I'll mount it in my tiny tripod and attach a stick or something to the end to make sure I don't get too close or far from myself. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I'm not sure if it's because I only had one wheel up or because I'm lowered, but the sway bar was pulling up on the control arm. When I disconnected it the knuckle dropped another inch or so and I could move things around a lot easier. Was just trying to avoid putting it on ramps to retorque the end link Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Honestly one of the easier things I've done on the car. Axle nut came off easy with the torque wrench. 45 minutes to have it in and then I decided to stop fighting the sway bar. 1:20 to the point of having everything torque but the axle nut. Waiting for my partner to finish working and get out here in a few minutes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. It's appreciated. I actually haven't done an axle yet and I didn't have the abs sensor on my list. Guess the length just isn't enough on it. I bought the big harbor freight impact before doing the suspension and man it made a huge difference. Luckily all those bolts except the axle nut have been touched since getting the car so I'm hoping it'll take less than an hour. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. I'll time myself for my first attempt later today lol. Outer driver boot ripped but I've been waiting to replace that aftermarket axle with a lower mileage oem. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. If I had my choice, I'd work for specialized doing cycling aero. They have their own wind tunnel on campus which is crazy considering what they do. They have done funny YouTube videos testing cycling myths. Beards aren't slower but shaving your legs is a LOT faster. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I could also scan just individual areas of the vehicle? Idk if that'll help down the road. Like a pillar forward or c pillar back Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
