Need to see the hooked up wagons!!!!!!! Volume-2
Nonamedude replied to SBT's topic in Legacy Photos (2005-2009)
What did you use to black the shifter bezel? Cuz that match is perfect Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
The other possibility I can think of is that you can changed where the ecu recognizes knock. The stock tune has it count knock signals at really low load and rpm which can cause false knock readings from clutch rattle, brake calipers, all sorts of things. So it's common to raise it some (as I understand it) so the ecu doesn't register it as actual knock until a higher load or rpm level. If you raised it really high up then you could be having knock (or misfire) at full load and not trigger anything. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

That seems like an odd thing for a tuner to do since it requires more work not less. Not that it's really that much more work. I can't think of any logical reason why that would be an intentional thing the tuner did but maybe reach out and ask? Or if you're really concerned, go ahead and get it retuned elsewhere. Just because it doesn't make sense that someone would, doesn't mean they didn't. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Also I'm questioning what you mean by disabled? How does he know it was disabled. My understanding was that ap tunes are locked down and you aren't able to really see the tuning options itself. It's possible to misfire without a check engine light. Hell I didn't get a check engine light when I spun a rod bearing and it sounded like a gremlin was under the hood and that was the stock tune. They shouldn't disable a misfire code. There's no on off got the entirety of the light, you'd have to disable each individual code. Tgv, catalytic converter, and secondary air pump codes would be regular ish codes to disable but anything beyond that would be a no no imo. I only know open source but I imagine ap is the same way. If you turn off the code it wouldn't store it but not show it. You've told the ecu not to even register it is my understanding. If you are getting knock it would show in a log or in your learning view. (Not sure if you can pull a learning view with the AP) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What did you do to your Outback today? V3

I've read that I'd be to do some cutting. I'd much rather have a grimmspeed one but aesthetics have to be low priority right now. Got two other vehicles to get up and running. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

I just put my turbo blanket on a little bit ago. Had been running without a heat shield for a little bit and just casual driving the hood would get ridiculously hot. Haven't decided if I want to bother to put the stock heat shield back on. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Oh that's interesting. Yea the dp blankets are probably over kill anyway and it's not like you're at the track either. I can't imagine you go WOT from every light. I don't have a cat in the section by cv joint and I've been lucky to not have a torn boot yet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Based on this the answer is very. More than I thought for sure. https://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=100266 There's a few companies that make dp blankets I thought though. Perrin used to and I'm not sure if php does. Ptp. Been talking about coding too much. https://www.ptpturboblankets.com/collections/ptp-subaru-downpipe-blankets/products/subaru-downpipe-blanket-lava Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Having worked in auto body, no bumper beam horrifies me. There's a write up somewhere and I think you can get a legacy jdm bumper beam that's narrower and fits Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I too was afraid of the worst. I wonder if it's worth compiling all the good information into a wiki which would likely be easier to search and organize. Maybe add it to the list of things I'll never get to. I just hate being pointed to this "amazing and detailed diy" and it's from scooby mods. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

My favorite thing has become chasing down newer wrx's when they come by driving aggressively. They don't seem to realize it's more of a willingness to push the car issue than the car itself. Hell I used to do it in my civic on the highway. Mr Mustang never expects the crap can civic he just flew past to come back up to him. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Complete Bushing Guide for BL/BP
Nonamedude replied to covertrussian's topic in Walkthroughs :: Performance Modifications
There are plenty of threads discussing nvh, handling, difficulty of replacement for different materials or locations. This is literally an informational thread to list bushing locations and various options for replacement parts. If you look into covertrussians other extremely detailed posts, there are step by step instructions and most even have opinions on post install changes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

I bought oe ones during my rebuild because I damaged the old ones by being an idiot. (I didn't know how fuel hoses disconnected). They were stupid expensive. Glad everyone's alright. I've thought about adding a fire extinguisher to my car. Definitely would if I ever modify the fuel system. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
