CA - smog legality of CARB legal intake?
Notorious replied to kaitanium's topic in Fourth Generation Legacy (2005 - 2009)
AOS is legal as long as it doesn’t remove or relocate the PCV. Grimmspeed is the only AOS legal in California AFAIK. I passed with it. If you’re worried about smog, I would just put the OEM intake on for the day and use the stock tune it was designed for like you’re supposed to. I’ve been hot smogging so I don’t have to deal with the return to stock BS anymore. Intakes even though they have a CARB sticker need an EO number on it that can be looked up. Most of the time you don’t need an aftermarket intake anyways unless you’re over the 350whp threshold. Stock is more reliable and effective. -
Headlight Cutoff Problem
Notorious replied to Zac88's topic in Fourth Generation Legacy (2005 - 2009)
Yes, switch left and right. If it's not the bulb then there is either an issue with your lens maybe condensation (since it looks like its been raining in that pic) or reflectors are melting which I doubt. -
Subwoofer is designed to be under the drivers seat. The cut out is for the McIntosh factory upgrade with I believe 12 speakers total or something like that was possible. Two in the rear doors, two on the rear deck, 3 on each of the driver doors (next to mirror, tweeter location, and the big one in the bottom), one speaker in the middle of the dashboard, and the subwoofer in the bottom of the drivers seat. I wouldn’t put a subwoofer back there, but you can probably put regular speakers in that spot and cut holes in the rear deck fabric.

Spare wheel that fits over big brakes
Notorious replied to doru's topic in Fourth Generation Legacy (2005 - 2009)
The two wheel swap dance is a bother but it’s a lot safer to have a full sized tire in the front for turning purposes, even more especially in the snow and rain. Just my two cents. -

I’d have to imagine the spare tire from an STI would work right? Usually you’d move the flat tire to the rear anyways and put the spare there. -
Rear Sus. Components - Which Require Alignment
Notorious replied to theflystyle's topic in Suspension/Brakes
Depending on how worn your bushings are, it is completely possible that even a non adjustable replacement will affect toe. Sometimes you can ask the shop who did your alignment before if you can get just a quick measurement after your alignment just to double check (after you installed everything) and you can compare but sometimes you can’t. -

Sti Alternator Cover
Notorious replied to Ninjacheezit's topic in Fourth Generation Legacy (2005 - 2009)
I used a Perrin STI alternator cover. I used the spacer provided for the left bolt and I lined up the hole onto the thin alternator cover bracket and drilled through. Then I used my own bolts and lock nut setup with threadlocker to secure the right side. -
Passenger Side valve cover hose
Notorious replied to ChanSPrak's topic in Fourth Generation Legacy (2005 - 2009)
Either 5/8ths or 1/2. Those are the hoses I purchased for my AOS which uses that line. Edit: Looked back at my install, it’s 1/2. -
Well, that timed pulse relay was exactly what I needed. I still have it triggered by the BIU dome light brown wire. But this relay will hold power to the lights for an adjustable amount of seconds. I have it set to about 15 seconds. Only down side is that it turns on after I close the door too for 15 seconds. Not much of a bother right now I may also use the same trigger for the fog lights...
