Roger that. I replaced the OCV's during the rebuild (not ruling them out). I'll use my smoke machine that's never gotten use to check all the gaskets/connections as well. Fuel trims, MAF values, oh boy... what a journey this is turning out to be.

OEM OCVs or aftermarket?  I've seen aftermarket never really work right.  If they are OEMs, then I would be really surprised if they were it.  Aftermarket shouldn't be ruled out.

  2. I love the EDM center console, but the change tray was annoying me and I didn't want to mount the wireless magnetic charger back on the vent.  So I went to the Engineering department and 3D scanned the change tray, then went through several iterations in Fusion360 to fit the wireless magnetic charger I have (plus a 90-degree USB-C adapter). I love the end result and now have a built-in wireless charger that's not too far from factory-looking.

Any pics of the custom brackets? The fit of EDM center console with the JDM double DIN is the most annoying thing in my car that I’d love to address.

The custom brackets are for the console between the seats, unfortunately, I'm fighting similar fitment issues that you are with the RHD JDM double DIN not cleanly fitting the LHD center dash.  I don't know if there was every a double DIN insert made for LHD that should fit better in theory.

  4. Working on installing a Euro console thanks to @DoctorDaveLGT

Love the more modern look of the center console, the components are better, the angles are better, the round shift boot is better

Vinyl wrapped the trim in a gunmetal color, adapted the 5mt shift boot to my 6mt.

I made a couple of custom brackets to secure the center console and I need one more thing to be able to install the matching glovebox.

Here is my current cockpit view, still finding little things to upgrade and put a smile on my face.

I'm like a little kid, I keep going into the garage to sit in it and fiddle...

What are your plans for the B and C pillars, since these aren’t airbag compliant pillars. Also, seatbelts were something that was difficult for me to import before I realized that they won’t work anyways and I got USDM black belts.

Not entirely sure yet, I've got time to research and figure something out.

I already have black seatbelts from a lower half black interior swap.

I'll also need to dye or something the headliner as there isn't a black one for sunroofs if I recall correctly.

I will get to an all black interior some day 😄

  6. Have you ever messed with the passenger seat?  There is a little black box that's a sensor for the alarm system under the passenger seat that will set off the alarm if it's unplugged (or not fully connected for some reason).  If it's happened since you bought the car, the previous owner might have done it; may be worth a check.

  7. I think the fans kick on w/ A/C when the coolant temp hits 185 or 195 I think.  Which A/C off, I think it goes to 201F before the fans are supposed to kick on.

Have you tried the A/C since you removed the air from the system?

Side note, looking through the FSM for the spec for temps; the number of times the engine coolant sensor is listed as a possible root cause for an issue is having me consider preemptively replacing it...

The term "coolant temperature" exists 985 times in the 2005 manual...
