  1. That's just not true. You can hit up the Verde and Salt rivers without even leaving town. Bartlett lake has great bass fishing and is only 45 minutes out of town, although I prefer Saguaro lake, which is farther out. http://www.thearizonafishingguides.com/watersBartlett.htm S2: if you move out here, PM me and I'll buy you a beer and we can chit chat about some of the cool Phoenix stuff. All anyone ever thinks of is the heat and desert. EDIT: What outdoorsy stuff are you into? We like to hike, kayak, rock climb, and canyoneer; and we sometimes get to do some big water rafting. That's all within a couple of hours of the city btw
  2. same. I'll snap a pic when I change the oil today or tomorrow.
  3. Are you certain? Because I paid ~$400 extra to get the Exedy Stage 1
  4. That is interesting. It makes me wonder if using the gear dependent boost could help with overboosting. Anyways, it seems like you could always test how it gets the number by putting the car in 3rd with the clutch down, and coasting at an rpm appropriate for 4th by holding the gas down a bit. If it says 4th, you have an answer. I'll try it tomorrow if I remember.
  5. If the spring perches sit 1/2" lower in the front it seems like you could tell just by reaching your hand under. Your fingers are at least that wide so if they fit you're golden... I would think.
  6. I had that for a while, it doesn't change the sound much. My wife didn't even notice. My tuner told me that it was probably costing me power only above 5k rpm.
  7. I have had no issues with removing my milk jug. It's hard to imagine it making any difference at all.
  8. The side airbag is located behind the metal frame of the side bolster, and he added the foam forward of the frame. Therefore I don't imagine it would interfere with deployment.
  9. That 3.5 is a much more interesting engine to me. I'd love to see what it could do with twin turbos and the D-4S system. I bet even mild boost would make a big difference, kinda like with the 86.
  10. Consider yourself preemptively enabled: https://www.vividracing.com/blog/vividracing-client-cars/lexus-is350-ecu-tuning-with-vr-tuned-auto-flash/comment-page-1/
  11. It will be loud AF and not a pleasant tone. I did that for giggles when I was putting on my Q300, I just drove around the block.
  12. Good points. I should data log for sure, I'm just a tad nervous about inducing over boost again. I've googled it and seen lots of different opinions on porting, and not enough pictures to feel like I know exactly what to do. For that reason I might just ask a local shop to do it. If we do get a community hot side housing that could make it easier on me too.
  13. So I just hit 23.7 psi in fourth gear on the freeway. (my target is 18) It was 44F out. I got the P0108 code and christmas tree dash, but when I reset it everything seemed fine. So for now I guess I'll go easy on it when it's not hot out. To clarify, these are the known solution right? -Port the wastegate -run stock cat back (ew) -run a spacer to restrict flow (similar to the Grimmspeed dp/oem catback adapter) Any idea what porting should cost? I have some days off next week so it might be an option. Does anyone have a source for a decent how-to for porting? I might be willing to give it a try. Does porting require a retune? And of course: What else should I slap on before a retune if needed?
  14. Looks correct. Remember that if you go aftermarket you'll need a catback since it will include a y pipe
  15. I don't remember mine touching or rubbing, but now y'all are making me unsure. I'll look next time I change the oil.
  16. That's what I continue to think about the STI header. Ours and the new WRXs is so much more pleasing to me.
  17. Also has faux carbon fiber vinyl over the wood trim... mostly. I can still see the wood peeking through in places
  18. Yeah I'll send my sticker to someone who needs it. PM me if you do.
  19. They sent me one when I didn't request it or try to smog it. It seems like you would've been sent one as well.
  20. They'll fit. The '13-14 springs are noticeably stiffer, and they do eliminate the tendency to bottom out on driveways and large leaves. I have these on my 2010 GT along with KYB struts. The springs are very reasonable from the dealer; I think I paid under $100 for the set.
  21. Being in Phoenix, I had thought about having it work at like 5 psi and up (or even a tad lower) and maybe inject only distilled water to lower the cost a bit. I'm no expert of course. On the other hand, maybe I'll just get an oil cooler next spring.
