  1. I had to get those bushings replaced. Do it yourself if you're able and willing, it'll save you a lot. The other two sound like typical dealership BS trying to grasp at services they can get you to pay for. Mine once told me my steering rack needed to be replaced... It did not.
  2. Any comments on installation? It looks pretty easy. Is the difference noticeable?
  3. Yeah I largely left FB last year some time and I'm glad I did. One of the things I like about this forum is that for the most part, the worst I've seen is people get kinda testy. No big deal, my coworkers are worse. I hate that if you're going to date, have a professional life, and just generally be social, you have to have a FB; otherwise you kind of look like a psychopath. If you want to see a train wreck, look at people's posts about the recent pipe bombs. You can feel you IQ go down as you read people's comments.
  4. I had it done: 2 car garage, half again as long, with old crappy white paint, misc automotive spills, eight years ago. $1000 for surface prep: grinding off the paint and whatnot, cleaning after. $1000 for the coating. Hard epoxy, not the softer stuff that you get at Home Depot. I chose gray/silver, it ended up looking silver swirly like a bowling ball. It was weird. I believe it was ~750 square feet. The guy did tell me that if it was a new slab, he wouldn't have needed to do the grinding, so the price would have been just about half.
  5. Yeah slightly louder, and slightly more raw sounding. Not much of an increase in noise though.
  6. How is the NVH with those bushings? When I did poly bushings in my Lexus IS300 years ago it practically ruined the car.
  7. I just got done installing an AEM 50-1215 fuel pump. You may notice that's not the same part number as others have used. 50-1200 is the correct part for our cars. I ordered the wrong one, but decided to see if it would work. It does, I only had to remove two plastic clips so that it would clear. Once I did that it's the same length as OEM so it snapped right in. Drove to the gas station and filled up, everything seems to work perfectly. I can kind of hear the pump on startup. If that gets to bother me, I may stuff a foam pad down between the tank and the panel.
  8. I value that input, but I'm not sure I would trust a dealer on this one. When I purchased my 2013 3.6R springs for my '10 LGT, the dealer flatly told me that they absolutely would not work because the suspension was different. When I asked about a rear sway bar from a WRX (as a bit of a test since it is well established that those work), they said it wouldn't fit at all. That it would not be long enough since the WRX is not as wide. It doesn't seem like the rear sub frame, rear diff and carrier, and spare tire well would be significantly different. If only for value engineering, Subaru should have kept as much of that as possible the same for the different trims and drive train options. Humble's pictures lead me to believe that it will work for our cars. It seems likely that it will even work for 2008-2014 WRXs.
  9. Good choices! Avo DP I assume? You're gunna love the faster spool
  10. Thanks. I'm interested for sure. I just ordered the Mishi hoses, so installing those will be a part of this oil change coming up soon. Adding in the intake would likely take me a bit longer since I'd need the tune.
  11. What type of intake noises do the silicon hoses add? How was the install on the intake? I've been thinking about how I'd like some more engine music lately. Are you thinking at all about parting with the intake?
  12. I'm not sure at all that the stock charge pipe would fit. Even with the Koyo I'm not sure, but I think you'd have decent odds. Your concern about rubbing makes sense to me. Could you get a custom charge pipe made?
  13. ^^ Brilliant. I don't know what your cost is on something like that, but you could totally market it. I'm thinking cost + 100% markup + flat rate shipping. I'd be interested. (for the Mazda RX8 filters that I like to use)
  14. Yes, yes, a thousand times yes! But seriously, it greatly improves the cars manners on the highway, as well as a less boaty, more sporty feel around town.
  15. The design philosophy got me into it too, that's why I bought the group buy Nameless DP. The reality is that I had to port my wastegate. Divorced wastegate downpipes may improve the post-wastegate flow as they are designed to, but that just doesn't help if the wastegate size/design is the limiting factor. So I wouldn't pay any extra for a divorced DP if you're going to have to port anyways and that does seem to solve the problem. If I could do it over, I'd buy a catless DP and add in a cat farther downstream than the catted DPs do, similar to some of the offerings for the 2015+ WRX.
  16. Would borrowing the stock mid pipe help? I don't get up there for work anymore, but I'd be happy to let you borrow the stock one if you get down here now and then.
  17. And here I thought my employer had wised up and blocked the site...
  18. Ebcs requires a tune. I believe you'll over boost if you're not tired for it. EDIT: Wow I'm slow I guess... y'all beat me to it.
  19. Well the good news is I got promoted. Bad news is no free time lately. The car has not reproduced the issue though. I have been driving all around the valley for work the last couple weeks and have thought a little about getting a more comfortable daily... with maybe 40 mpg... but really I'm just keeping the GT.
