  1. I couldn't answer that. Someone on here has already bypassed their TB, can't remember who it was though.
  2. Both tubes going to the throttle body are coolant lines.
  3. I have two catch cans. The large one (Mishimoto) is connected in between the PCV valve and the intake manifold: The small one (homemade) is in between the breather line and the Takeda intake. When you're looking at the driver's side of the engine, the breather is on the left, pcv valve on the right.
  4. Copper & aluminum are relatively close in terms of hardness. When alloyed, they become even harder.
  5. According to their website, the PRS pulleys are made of Duralumin.
  6. My old pulley has that "polishing" where the seal was but not the grooves.
  7. I'll take a look at my OEM pulley and see if it looks similar. Will report back later tonight or tomorrow.
  8. Thanks. So, other than leaking oil, there was no other damage done other than to the seal and pulley, correct? Would it make sense to just monitor it and wait for leaks instead of just swapping out everything now? I check my oil level at least twice a month, so I can just add that to my routine.
  9. Also, is there any chance that a damaged seal could leak back into the timing chain chamber and if so, would the oil simply drain back into the oil pan or would it stay in there?
  10. Can it be removed and replaced without removing anything else other than the crank pulley?
  11. So, the oil leakage was obvious? I checked my timing cover at the pulley and found nothing, it was completely dry. Also, if the pulley or seal is found to be defective, what are the costs in parts & labor to replace the seal and how long would it take to replace it?
  12. Here's the two grooves I'm seeing; the obvious one in red, and the not so obvious one in yellow. This will be very important to know. You live closer to One Stop than I do. Now that they know how to do it, it should be easy enough for them. If we have the same results as Giovanni and the oil seal is no good, then things start to become more expensive and time consuming.
  13. Like I said above, the notch in the inside of the pulley is keyed to the crank sprocket inside the timing cover.
  14. That's a pretty nasty groove (there looks like there's two of them, actually). The pulley itself slips onto and is keyed to the crank sprocket. That groove looks like it's either being caused by the oil seal or the timing chain cover itself. It's possible that during installation that something got stuck in there between the pulley and seal and is what caused all the damage. Or, it could be what you and Fred are thinking, that the extra tension on the pulley from the SC could be pulling it "out of round". I would think the latter would be something you could see or hear upon inspection.
  15. How long ago did Giovanni have his installed? Mine was put in exactly 7 months ago. I just checked my car to see if I could hear/see anything unusual. Only thing I found was I was down almost 1L of oil since my last service 3500mi ago; nothing "unusual" about that. I did not see any oil leaks or oil stains around the timing chain cover where the crank pulley is located or anywhere else.
  16. It would be fuse #10 in the engine bay fuse box. If it was that fuse, all your interior lighting would be out, too. If all that's working but just not the audio/nav unit, then it's either the unit's built-in fuse (if there is one, I'm not really sure), or the unit is kaput. edit: It could also be fuse #6 in the engine bay. The inside fuse which you said you checked would be #4.
  17. 3 years, almost 60K miles on my car and one of my mufflers is only a year old due to the accident... Dunno if I could afford it all anyway.
  18. Actually, it is pre-wired. http://legacygt.com/forums/showpost.php?p=4868088&postcount=23
  19. I have my 60K service scheduled for this weekend, so I was looking over the maintenance schedule. Subaru does indeed recommend changing the in take fuel filter every 60K miles. I'm not having mine done due to the complexity of it.
  20. Yeah, I'm giving serious thought to upgrading to those fogs from my iJDMToy ones.
