  1. The swap is pretty straight forward, I replaced a bunch of hardware with fresh OEM bolts while I was at it; definitely recommend it. The bolts that hold the hub to the trailing arm are longer on the Aluminum arms. Also there is separate bracket that holds the swaybar to the trailing arm as well. My swap I replaced all the bushings, new hub bearings, swaybars, rear brembos, and had the arms powder coated. So basically I touched everything under there I can answer questions if you have any. Just make sure you have all the torque specs on hand, and paint mark everything so you don't miss something.
  2. You can always message 541 motorsports via their ebay store. I have purchased a few things from them I would 100% recommend them. As a repeat customer they even take a few bucks off of the items if you developer a relationship and ask politely.
  3. Sorry I got your message but I’m right in the middle of a move. Unfortunately, your timing did not work out. The car is in the transporter going across county. I just don’t have time to pull parts.
  4. I hope you have better luck than I did. I tossed my OE non-leaking rack in the dumpster. I could not give that thing away. Just sat on the market place for months. I would get a couple flakes here and there, but never anyone even remotely serious. I also got the 2015 rack minty-fresh from Subaru on my build.
  5. No, as has been cover by other members. But I do have the AVO mount brackets as well.
  6. Yeah, except for the small problem of not knowing they even existed… thanks for the part number. I’ll keep it on my wish list for later.
  7. I sent mine out to media blasting and powder coat, I had them done in silver so they look like aluminum. I did grind away a small corner for the rear brembos on one side. I was able to get the bolts torqued on the other side without having to remove any material. I got my set for $400 ish, and came with the upper links, did not come with the lower sway bar mounts. I had to buy new ones from Subaru. I replaced all the bushings with Whiteline and replaced the arms with the Whiteline adjustable bits. I'm into my rear end refresh for a good amount of coin, but everything is new or next to new to include wheel bearings.
  8. I used my buddies electric Snap-on impact recently when I grabbed some struts at the junk yard. It impressed me with how much power it had, but it is huge and fitting it in tight spots is next to impossible. I just got rid of my compressor, but I have a 1/2 drive Ingersoll Rand titanium impact that has served me very well for years going back to when I was in the shop as a technician. The power given its size is prob the best argument for air tools right now. Definitely have their downsides, but they are very mature and reliable.
  9. Keep at it dude!!! I think that because this a legacy this is not getting the eyeballs it deserves. Are you posting in the STI forums as well? The EJ is a great platform, but the EZ is underrated in my opinion. Unfortunately, it takes a few brave souls to blaze the path for the rest of us to follow, you are a pioneer buddy. My project is on the back burner for now but I am itching to make a similar build... Might not go so extreme, but knowing that this kind of swap requires a new harness is great to know if it saves a piston/rod from looking for daylight.
  10. Thanks sounds good. I look forward to providing some exciting updates hopefully sooner than later.
  11. Well Its happening, we are moving to Honolulu. This has been in the works for a while and is a great opportunity the only downside is the Legacy will go back on the back burner for a little while. I'm a little bummed out on this, but life is not a straight line, on the up side is I will build up the parts stock pile until I can turn some wrenches again. The current state of the car is brake systems is all but done, just need rear rotors. I was holding off on purchasing coilovers (glad I did at this point) so I got some junkers on there now so I can put the car on the ground. Picked up some very cheap forged MOMO wheels (18x* +38) they had a little curb rash and terrible plasti dip. If I have time I'm going to refinish them before I put tires on them. I will prob just buy a JDM 6 speed, and a built long block once the time comes. I'll reassess what turbos are on the market, but I'm looking for something like a Dom1.5 XTR. It feels odd to say it but I'm at the point in my life where I will have more money than time, and as much as I love to do all my own work I have to get this done or I'll be an old man before I have all the time I want. Thanks to everyone who has followed along, I will finish this project but moving 6000miles away is a big move and that requires all of my attention right now.
  12. I have a stock air box looking to get rid of cones with a K&N filter. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Moving bump, some parts have already met their end. Grab what you can before they are crushed.
  14. Ok, so this hole gets deep quickly… I’m 8-10k plus on my “restoration” and I have not yet touched the engine bay… just don’t tell the wife. But I’m going full ham on my build. Can you do this MUCH cheaper yes, but compromises will be made. I have just about every suspension bit you can add to the legacy, and 2k in brake upgrades. Because I plan to run 400hp and not have a death trap. Not trying to scare you, just let you know $10k is not as much as it sounds when coil overs are $1600 and that is one part.
  15. I hear you. We all like what we like no hating on that. I worked at Lexus for a while and those are generally easier cars to work on. Subarus are not bad in my opinion, now Audi on the other hand can burn in hell. Even with a lift, shop tools, special tools those things fought you every step of the way I hear VWs are much the same.
  16. Let me start by saying that I love some engine swaps BUT I don't think the legacy is the best platform for it. a) The ej is a good engine and is VERY well supported by the aftermarket. Just say the number and someone has a price tag and parts list ready to go for whatever power level you want up to 1200-ish horsepower. (I think that is as far as the billet blocks are being pushed right now) b) If spark plugs is one of the main reasons you want to swap, remember the service interval is like 100k miles, for a 'normal' car, racing is a different ball of wax. Also just pay some guy with little girl hands $100 every 5 years. c) The legacy as a car is getting older and is not as well supported as the WRX is, options are limited unlike the WRX/STi. You can get anything you want from like 6+ vendors. d) If you did want to want to say yolo!!! and do it anyways, I would prob just go for an LS, or an EG30/EZ30. Sure you can do a 2JZ, or an RB engine but straight 6s are long boys. Heck if we are getting creative here just order an FA24 from Subaru, that is the latest generation of direct injected 4 cylinder engines available and the potential seems to be very promising. Porsche has turbo flat 4 engines there are many many options is the point. But putting $10, $15, $30k into a car you can buy for 6k online all day long is hard to justify. At the end of the day your car your money, but I would not swap that motor into this car, just my two cents. Lastly, I am considering an EZ30 for my car so I'm not poo poo-ing on the swapping part, just the engine choice.
  17. I stopped using it years ago (10+ at least), only recently reactivated my account to use the Marketplace which seems to be another version of craigslist. How I see it Facebook is just people posting fake versions of themselves and arguing with others why they are right everyone else is wrong. None of that sounds fun, but hey I can relate to watching the sh!tshow. I have been to ComicCon and the people watching is great! One year there was a guy walking around with a sign that said "Free Shrugs" and if you made eye contact with him he would shrug, it got funny when you saw the same dude like 6 or 7 times and you started to recognize eachother.
  18. I mean yeah goop on a dash is a 1/2 ass'ed fix, but that was brutal! I think I have some sticky dash starting, and will have to replace it but I can't blame anyone from trying to save a buck. What is a new dash going for right now $400+ installed like $700... Do you have a point, yup, is being rude going to win you any points prob not... I think (and this is just me) that the goal of this forum is to help each other out and share our projects and updates all that happy $h!t. If you want to flame people isn't that what Facebook is for?? Pictures of people's salads and ugly kids, and trying to change some random strangers' mind on the internet by calling them a poopy face.
  19. Back in the day you could buy new replacement grills from members making them out of fiberglass. I think Madrig is the only one left making carbon, and fiberglass parts lately, if you are unaware he seems to have a back log of orders. I don't recall seeing a grill from him, but my guess is he also has that available. You might find stuff on ebay here and there but those are fewer and fewer as time passes.
  20. Bump plenty of parts still in need of a home.
  21. I'm looking for a set of struts to get my car on the ground. Just need to hold the car, not drive. This is due to a relocation for work, and I need to get my car on the transporter soon-ish. Don't really think shipping is a good choice i can prob get some rockauto cheepies for the cost of shipping. Also need wheels, again nothing blingy just rollers. Thanks in advance.
  22. Looks like I am going to get relocated for work and my garage queen needs to get back on the ground quickly. All I need is something that will hold the weight of the car zero miles will be driven, so if you have some busted a$$ clunkers sitting around that works for me. Don't think I want to pay shipping, looking for something local.
