  2. Wow that's an old set then! I have CE's from '02 that do have the stamps, and I thought they were antiques 15-20 year old designs and forgings still holding up strong today, that's quality.
  3. Silver with blue stickers! But are you sure those are legit Volks? They look to be missing the stamping. Forged, monoblock, rays eng., etc.
  4. Check (and listen) for possible sources of mechanical rattles, like from a heat shield, or a suspension component. We had some similar knock (DAM reduced as well) on the Saabaru due to loose-fitting caliper pins, the tap-tap/rattle had the knock sensor picking up big events. New o-ring around the pin and no more false knock.
  5. It's the space between the mirror and bracket, that "folding hinge"... sometimes there's a part number sticker in between there too, that flutters and whistles.
  6. My '92 Volvo has an OEM boost gauge in the exact same spot. Would've been cooler than the MPG gauge. They could've also put one in the info/gauges part of the navi display, instead of the uselessness they put there...
  7. The "instantaneous" mileage gauge is a BMW feature that Subaru tried to adopt, IMO unsuccessfully. The BMWs have numbers, at least. In my spec B, there are 3 nearly useless MPG gauges and NO boost gauge The way I read it, the dead center of that instant MPG gauge is your average fuel economy, say 21.2 or whatever is on the ticker for A or B. The gauge only really shows if you're above or below that average, and by how much, relatively speaking.
  8. Burgundy = RRM = Ruby Red Metallic. 13 made, according to the list.
  9. I read it as you were saying an 18g was going to make 420 on 93. But, even quick's setup won't make a legit 420 to the wheels on 93. Those are inflated numbers, IMO. On ethanol, 420 is doable. But on pump, 375 is more like it. However, if he went out and ran low 11's @ over 120MPH, I would believe the 420 on pump.
  10. 420 on 93 out of an 18g?! I see you are talking "brenHP" which are measured differently. A legit 375 is not low at all, IMO.

  13. Did you swap around injectors, too? Hopefully it's a malfunctioning injector at idle... on the other end of the PITA spectrum, a poorly seated exhaust valve won't always show up on a compression test.
  14. Truth. Boxer Sound whether EL or UEL! Just listen to a JDM STi or a new 4cyl Porsche Boxster

  16. Looks like a very clean car, nice starting point! How are those 160k OEM Bils holding up with the S-techs?

  18. Motori Moderni designed this for Subaru. They called it a boxer, but I'm not sure, never seen firing order info on it. Could it be a 180* V-12, like the flat-12 found in the Ferrari Testarossa and 512 BB? BB stood for Berlinetta Boxer, but it was not a true boxer.
  19. Nice car! Can't believe I haven't seen this thread. Definitely in for this build.
