What did you do to your Outback today? V3
Flinkly replied to SBT's topic in Third Generation Subaru Outback (2004 – 2009)
Got a flat fixed and then an alignment. Alignment shop gave me a list of things they wanted to do, like front LCAs, valve cover gaskets, new spark plug boots, etc., Etc. (firestone). They want $450 each for new LCAs, so i guess that gives me the go ahead to get some used spec b aluminum ones and have some new rubber installed. Gotta be cheaper than that... -
Is that a legacy wagon next door? Bonus points if so.

Had a black, early outback follow me through a turn out of a light this morning, and followed me when i turned two streets down. Had an exhaust, yellow fogs, and i'm sure other stuff, but they were behind and was taking the kids to school. Heard him drive by a few minutes later too.

Those clear skies.... Getting tired of the orange or grey skies. -
What do you folks think of sig sauer optics? There's a local job opening to work on electrical and mechanical sights, and was wondering how the company is viewed from the outside. Thanks!

Big day! Changed the oil, filled the tires up, and installed a fumitomo valve and perrin steering damper delete. I think i need to mess with the delete some more, and find a nipple to cover the valve spout for cleanliness. Pretty productive day! -
Want to get an electric impact before i tackle some brake, suspension and wheel bearings, but what is a good torque to go after? Saw one that has 1,000 ftlbs of breakaway torque, but that seems redic, and would break things. There are a few around 150 and 250, which seems much more reasonable. What do people have and find useful to break loose bolts? I'll use a manual torque wrench to put things back on.

My loins tightened up for that one...

Legacy already has two large aero panels coverinn most of the bottom. A few extra bits at the front wheel wells too. I've also wanted to do a full belly tray (outback, so no existing panels) and figured i'd leave the driveshaft/exhaust tunnel open, or use thin aluminum there. Coroplast elsewhere.

Doesn't the fuel pump turn on to pressurize the system once you turn the key to the second notch? Regardless of clutch being in or not? Isn't there 3 key notches besides "off"? Accessory, on, and start? -

I had one of my battery connectors corrode so bad it failed and left me in a grocery lot. I'd also check the clutch switch, but sounds like you're there already. -

Bought my first tank of gas since early march today. Need to replace a rear wheel bearing or two also. -
I wish they had the 5" when i got mine. I'm not even an amatuer, my first too, but live my PPQ. And same here on holding so many different ones before settling on it. An M&P was the runner up. Equally interested in anything that's said.

Mostly just providing you some flack for the color, but it is always nice to see these cars get some love still. Can't believe mine is 12 this year... -

Oh boi, you be baller now! -
You can change a parameter in the rom so it starts at 1.0, but the default and safer option is to start at zero, or whatever is the lowest, and allow the ECU to bring it to 1.0 on it's own terms. Sounds like you or someone else changed this for your rom long ago and you've been using the modification ever since. EDIT: dang. Second place. And said using fewer characters.

Holy cow. 1 day in and so many posts. Keep up the momentum! I do design work and have access to NX and AUtoCAD. But this group already seems too fast for the time i could donate. I do need to find the subaru testing around MPG and the outback's rear angle...
