  1. Greetings! Outback XT here - stock wheels are 17x7 with a 48mm offset. I see the STi BBS are 17x7.5 with a 53mm offset. I plugged these numbers into the 1010tires.com offset calculator and it is telling me that on the inside, there's going to be 11mm less clearance between the wheel and strut housing. I can't look right now as I have my winter tires on. Stock size in my winters (225/55/17) and I don't get any fender liner rub, however with my summers in the same size there's a slight rub at almost full lock, nothing I worry about. So, the summers are bigger and the STi BBS would be my summer wheel setup. I recall there being very little clearance between the tire and spring perch with the summers but I don't remember how exactly. I'm using LGT Spec B Bilsteins with strut mount spacers. Anyone run stock OBXT tires with these struts and these STi BBS wheels? Cheers.
  2. Not sure if this is 'normal' or indicative of a small problem. Usually when returning to the car after it's been parked for several hours, there's a couple of pumps (or is that strokes? whatever ) worth of brake boost vacuum left before the pedal gets hard (ok, this is immature) before turning the engine on again. I've noticed on occasion though that the pedal is firm with no vacuum assist until I start the engine. Is this normal or perhaps a small leak? Cheers.
  3. They’ve arrived! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. For the front mudflaps, there's two metal screws and a plastic popit thing holding it on. On the back-side of the two screws, whatever they thread into has detached from what it was anchored to, resulting in the screw/nut simply spinning as one piece. Any tips to get at the back side or to remove those screws? Thanks.
  5. In theory, no, but if there's an update available from Subaru and they check the existing version for whatever then they might do the update as routine work. If you have a custom flash on there I'd make sure they know about it.
  6. I still can't believe those Hikari lights are rated at 'up to' 9600 lumens. HIDs max out at what, 3500 lumen? What are the new Acura LED lights rated at? Those nearly blind me temporarily. I wonder what sort of dimmer circuit could be used with them.
  7. What I noticed was a big difference when I was forced to downgrade from the 65w Osram bulbs back to 55w bulbs. Now I'm really kicking myself for not stocking up on them before they were discontinued. LEDs are appealing, and from the sounds of it the Hikari seem to have managed to get the positioning correct so they're not too bad in the OEM projectors. Unfortunately the additional lumen output is a bit of a downside for me. If they matched the 65w, sure, but I have a hard enough time with a blast of new Acura low-beams, last thing I want is to be that guy blinding everyone else :/ The bulbs are the least of my worries now, I've got a stalling issue I need to pay someone to track down
  8. I accenditally ordered an incompatible actuator, so there are some differences in the stopping positions. If this is the first time it’s acted up, you can open up the actuator itself, clean and re-lube with some dielectric grease.
  9. It has a slight sheen to it, which I don't mind. How's the reflection in the glass when the sun hits it? Mine practically still looks like that, until the sunlight has been on it for a bit, then I can leave fingerprints in the tackiness of the surface.
  10. Yup, mine is in the parkade at home, and in the parkade at work. It did get more sun in its earlier years though, but I suspect it's more of a problem with the material itself. Sort of like those screwdrivers that go all sticky after a while. I use a Covercraft UVS100 windshield shade quite a bit, but if the sun comes in the side window, the spot with the light is what'll get tacky. Mind posting some pics of the new dash?
  11. Staying tuned for a dash swap log! How's the new dash material like compared to the old one? Good match or...?
  12. I think I'll bite the bullet and replace my dash later this year. Subaru Canada pretty much gave me the middle finger when I asked about why the US warranty extension didn't apply up here. Funny how they don't have any issue sending me marketing materials though... Also thinking about replacing the front door cards. They're not bad yet, but showing early signs of getting tacky when in the sun. Plus a friend's sunscreen stained one of them a while back.
  13. So the Mini D2S 4.0 is OE equipment on what vehicle? The appeal of the RX330 parts is that they obviously meet the FMVSS being the OE parts for Lexus.
  14. So where does one get these "Black series" projectors and other necessary parts? I have my headlights out to refinish them (temp ones in) and wouldn't mind taking this opportunity to at the very least look into this.
  15. Just a couple years late to the party Anyone know if/where these RX330 parts are still available?
  16. Also, anyone know if I get the 08+ dash with the silver inserts if the fitment is the same as the 05 dash? Airbag mounts, etc...
  17. Any update on this? Last summer when I emailed Subaru Canada they basically told me to take a hike as the recall wasn't happening in Canada. For those of you who have had the dash replaced, what's the material like? How well does it match the doors? Can you post pics?
  18. Since when were the driver side airbags included in this recall? At least on the Legacy...
