  1. All set, Picked up a set of DW850's from thecoolmankyle
  2. I'm curious to hear the response to this, but why doesn't anyone use the Subaru High Performance 75W-90 oil as a replacement for their previous Extra-S? I will most likely be doing this when I fill my 06 5MT and rear diff when it goes back in the car.
  3. Just looking to see if anyone has any side feed injectors larger than the stock 550cc ones up for sale. Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk
  4. Yeah that's normal... The condition of my inner bushing however, that is not normal... LOL Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk
  5. Took apart the AVCS pulley... Holy F... So much metal everywhere in this engine. Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk
  6. Well how convenient... The stock BCS is missing... LOL I guess I'll have to replace it with something and might as well go with an aftermarket 3 port one. Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk
  7. Yeah I was wondering about the whole warranty deal.... I honestly wonder how much that will matter since it's going in a car that will have a custom tune, VF52, full exhaust and I'm doing the build and install... Not many places honor their warranties if it's being done by a DIY and not in a shop. Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk
  8. Right now that garage is just storing a Trump Spitfire on the Max Jax and my 1990 Indy Beretta and my wife uses the third bay for her 04 Forester daily. The floor there was only 4" thick... Just enough for the anchors but it's not staying that way forever. I will be cutting the center of the floor out and pouring a 6-7" thick slab in the center bay. Anchors shouldn't be in through holes... Once I start using that shop more it may get moved, and stored when not in use since getting those posts out of the way is a huge benefit. For now tho it's temporary setup and hasn't budged. Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk
  9. I love the Quick Jacks... I don't have the slab thickness to put my Max Jax in this shop which is a bit disappointing, but these work great for what I've been doing so far. This is up in my 3 bay garage. Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk
  10. No I don't believe the CP's have offset pins. Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk
  11. Something else to keep in mind... If whomever you are buying this for also likes to fabricate things... making the extension plates are quite easy when you look at how they are designed. Just some square stock, flat plate and a welder and you can make your own extenders. https://www.quickjack.com/slx-frame-extensions/ I know this is something I'll be doing someday.
  12. How's the sound on those? I did CP's back when I did my rebuild and that engine has sounded like a diesel since day one. I have nearly 100k on the build now and I'd be really curious to see how much skirt/cylinder wall damage that noise has caused.
  13. Oh yeah I'm still kicking... I got busy lately after moving in 2018 (note the new shop in the photos, 1 of 3 garages ) and really fell off the wagon when it comes to forums and whatnot... Ditched social media recently and hopped back on this. I'm glad we were able to get you all set too, and damn that was a long time ago... LOL Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk
  14. I tore apart my 06 LGT project over the weekend... Way more destruction than I thought there would be on this motor. Fuji Bond must have been on sale when they assembled it. Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk
  15. You should have seen the valve cover gaskets... insane amount used, I was expecting to find it blocking the oil pickup but it wasn't. There has been a lot of subpar work found on this build... Sadly it's going to cost a bit more than I was hoping to get a new daily out of this, but hey it's still cheaper than a new car and insurance for that!
  16. Shit just found this info on the RA block... this is the most info I have found regarding how these are put together.. https://www.importimageracing.com/products/subaru-oem-2-5l-shortblock-subaru-sti-type-ra-2018-sti-2020?gclid=CjwKCAiAt9z-BRBCEiwA_bWv-ByWVzBcqydOIctB7oaKXODDfE9rqWrOkFDipOgU4HoBubAJsb4prxoCjtcQAvD_BwE
  17. Yes, yes I have Things got busy with my move in 2018 as well as buying a GM concept car... I've been pretty MIA on all forums lately including the Beretta ones. Any motor will be quieter than my .020 over CP Forged piston motor... lmao Regardless of what PN I purchase it should be the latest version? Is that if I buy from a Subaru dealer? I have to assume stuff you see on Amazon or Ebay is something that they have had on the shelf, and that begs to ask the question of am I better off buying it through a dealer to ensure that Subie freshness is there? Also any idea why the 10103AC890 PN says it "doesn't fit" an 06 Legacy, and the fitting short block is the 10103AC870 PN? There has to be something different between the two. I know the 890 is listed as the STI build, is it perhaps a lower CR, larger dish pistons, to accommodate the larger STI turbo and higher boost levels?

  19. So what's the best, or differences between some of the OEM short blocks out there that are available from Subaru. MaxCapacity's thread noted this PN: 10103AC050 When searching for that you can find some results and sales for that PN, but some Subaru site's say it's been superseded by PN: 10103AC890 And when I look up an 06 Legacy GT, I get PN: 10103AC870 Anyone have any clue what the difference is between these three? And if there is a better PN out there? I know some have different CR's and I wasn't sure what was the best option for crank, rods and piston combos. Plans for the build is a OEM short block, best one, stock heads, VF52 turbo and it will have the Invidia turbo back exhaust, and Perrin TMIC from my 07 when finished. So nothing overly special, this is my daily. I'm expecting to run a similar 18-19PSI tune that I have on my 07 that netted me 255whp 310ftlbs on a stock VF46. I bought a whole 06 LGT to replace my badly rusting 07 and the previous owner appears to have driven it longer than he should have... Crank is junk, 1 rod gone, cylinder 2 has scratches in the wall, and the worst part is it spread metal through the whole engine so unless I can find someone who can magically repair the cam bores (and I have to replace the cams) then I need two new heads to go with this setup as well. I'd post up pics, but the attachment manager is not working, and I don't use photobucket anymore. Maybe I can get them through tapa talk on another post.
  20. I've been running my 19lb boost curve with stock solenoid setup since back in 2012, with tuning help from John, "Legend" and those tables were never touched when I built my forged short block and brought it in for a "protune" by tuningalliance at Enhanced Street Performance in MA. He left the boost curve and all the WG tables alone since I had honed that in so well with John's help. All he did was fix my excessive fueling and iron out my spark table. Cars been like that since May of 2013, and has probably 90k of DDing on that build. Never had boost creep, Never had control issues, so unless the VF46 is that incapable compared to the VF52 then I probably wont NEED a 3-port. I'll see how it goes when I get the build done, I'm in no rush, as well as if it needs it then I'll get one, but I hate wasteful spending.
  21. My 06 build will be getting the VF52 I picked up recently... Parts from my 07 will make their way over to the 06 to support. No cat up pipe, full Invidia exhaust, Perrin TMIC... the only thing in question is a EBCS. I haven't decided on if I want/need to get one yet. I'll probably be keeping it around 19 PSI which is what I currently run on my 07 VF46 setup and that doesn't have any issues.
  22. I look at stock downpipe every time I drive into one of my garage bays... it may be time to part with it. OH and I bought a VF52 for my 06 Legacy GT that's sitting in my garage waiting for a build to replace my rusty 07.
  23. Fixed... man this is what happens when I vanish from forums... I need to get back on here some more.
