  1. Several years ago, I installed 1/0 gauge wire for my audio system, in addition to the 'big 3'. Maybe I should have my fuel pump tap to it, while leaving the rest of the fuel pump wiring intact.
  2. Three of my injectors have 183K miles on them, including the fuel pump. A couple of weeks ago, I suffered from erratic misfires in cylinder 2 after a few gear pulls. Did some troubleshooting with the coil and spark plug first. Turned out they were both fine. So I removed the injector; the orings looked quite old and bad to me. So I installed some fresh orings, sprayed the inside of the injector with some MAF cleaner the best I could. Put it back. Been 200 miles and the car has been running just fine. I hope it'll stay that way. I never used that B12 chemical before. Maybe I should have. Either way, I will send my injectors for some cleaning and flow testing next month.
  3. When was the last time your injectors have been 'refreshed'? If never, you may want to send them to DeatschWerks for a cleaning and getting fresh new orings.
  4. Yep. I did that too 8 years ago. Used tons of anti-seize. Have not given me any trouble since. At the same time, I have the whiteline KTA124 kit to adjust rear camber and toe. So we leave these stock bolts alone.
  5. If your car was tuned in Summer, then in Winter it is possible it overboosts a little due to denser/colder air mass. You may want to keep an eye on boost target vs actual boost too. In terms of fuel trims, mine don't swing much if at all between summer/winter.
  6. Do you have TGV deletes? Have you been monitoring roughness per cylinder?
  7. Then, sell the offroad one and get a Jeep later for them trails. Or do like me: keep both OBXTs and get a modified XJ too
  8. So, did you notice exactly in which load and rpm range that knock keep showing up? Also, as you probably know, high load and low rpm is not a good combination. But I do get lazy sometimes to downshift . What I'd do is basically log and keep note of the load/rpm range it happens and, if it is indeed happening in open loop, check if the actual AFR is meeting the AFR target.
  9. Update... She did it again last night after she warmed up and I did a 2nd gear pull. Misfiring like crazy in #2 right after the pull, lots of negative fuel correct (-25%) and running super rich. Will check injector #2 tonight. Hopefully, it's just a failed oring..
  10. Good to hear! Hope it'll stay that way. As for me, my random misfire on cylinder 2 came back right after this morning first pull . When it first happened (last week), I did swap coil packs as well as tightened the #2 spark plug which was definitely loose. It then ran fine after that. But for some reasons, crazy misfires happened again in that cylinder after the pull this morning. This time, I swapped spark plugs to see if the misfire will follow. #2 plug was already sooty, but I was able to clean it a bit (brand new spark plug). After that, did like ~10 3rd/4th gear pulls! Nothing. She purrs. Idle good. Trims good. So I still don't know if the plug is fouled or the injector is acting up.
  11. I remember having a leak there after the rebuild. It was the hose connected to the thermostat. Clamp was loose. That'd be nice if that is your problem. Easy fix.
  12. Keep an eye on how fast you are burning oil. Usually, a quart per OCI is considered OK per the internets . But a quart burned in less than 1k is definitely worrisome...
  13. I HATE liars and thieves. Must have sucked real bad trying to prove the lies and confront the person.. Maybe you did not have to do the latter though. Still, it sucks.
  14. Got a little scared last Saturday morning. Was planning to take the family on a little excursion in the desert. 5 minutes after we left, did a little 2nd gear pull and right after that, the car began to run real rough. With the BtSm app running, I was seeing lots of misfires on cylinder 2. Uh oh, did I bust the engine? That's what ran in my head. Parked the car, visually inspected the engine bay, etc... Nothing out of order. Fuel trims were fine. What could it be?? Started the car, ran fine, did another pull, ran like crap. Limped it back to the house. After further investigation, it was a slightly loose spark plug (I did change the spark plugs two weeks ago). I guess I did not tighten that one well enough. That was a little scary..
  15. What do you use now? Just oem style bearing then? Any specific brand?
  16. Please post what you are doing regarding injector scaling. This is something I have yet to 'play with', but found a very good video from HP tuner last night, using our platform (well, an STI) and ECUflash. -->
